I want to be an investment banker. What should I undergrad in? Do I need an MBA? If I want to get an MBA, what should I undergrad in?
If you’re really for IB, the question isn’t what should I major in, it’s “where should I go to school.” Do some searches around this site, there should be some good info on target schools.
Preferably one of these - Finance; Economics; Business administration and management.
As @arc918 said, it’s where you go that’s more important. It also depends on what part of IB you want to be in, there’s a few kinds.

Read this, and then you might be able to ask more meaningful/specific questions
However, in general, you want to get a Business degree with a focus in either finance, accounting, data science, business analytics, risk management; or economics (applied focus is better), some people even go from computer science, and some people will go to undergrad in something completely different like engineering, and then get a MBA and go into an investment/financial role related to their field. For example, getting undergrad in engineering, working for a few years, then getting a MBA and working in energy private equity/finance in TX.
Also, no matter what you go to, you want to try to go to a target or semi-target where schools actually recruit or there are alumni connections (NYU, UMich, UCB, MIT, UPenn, etc.)
You should learn what investment banking really is. I wouldn’t choose a university solely for investment banking… in fact just go with the best school you get into and the program you’re most passioante about. Investment banks take students from all backgrounds as long as you demonstrate interest
Can you please list some more undergrad business schools with great alumni connections? In your opinion, what do you think of Lehigh’s Business School? Thanks
