what should i major to become a dentist?

I know that i can choose whatever major i want to get into a dental school but i want to know which major would best prepare me while giving me a safe backup plan in case a dental school doesn’t work out. I’m currently thinking about biomedical engineering since it’s closely related to medicine but is there any other engineering or other majors that you would recommend?

If you think you can handle it, go for it. It really should be between biology, chemistry, or biochemistry. If you did not get into dental school you could always go into research.

Best of luck.

Well, it depends on what you would want to do other than go to dental school. You can get a job with any major. Engineering is a good bet major - but also is notorious for being difficult and might depress your GPA, which might make it difficult for you to get into dental school. I’ve heard a lot of people say that biomedical engineering majors need a master’s to get a job - but people say the same thing about psychology and that’s not true, so I’m sure that there’s some work you can do with a BME degree, although it might not be traditional engineering.
