So I just finished my Freshman year and decided to stay on campus during the summer. I wanted to get a job as a lab assistant but I have no idea what to put on my resume since high school stuff probably seem so out of place and I haven't done much during my first year of college either.
Can someone help me with this?

Thank you

Honestly, no one really expects you to have done that much. Be honest, but play up anything you did as much as you can. If you worked a part time job (even if it was just in a grocery store or something) in high school or college put that. If you did a cool term project in any of your classes put that. If you joined a club and made any sort of impact (even if you weren’t a leader) put that.

Go to the career center on your campus!!! They will explain how to write a resume, provide you with sample resumes, will answer your questions, and can even critique your resume.
Take advantage of all the resources your college offers! That is what you are paying for :-)

Keep relevant HS information, for instance: gpa; coursework, internships, summer programs, and clubs that are science/math related.

References may be from HS as well as college.

Any other activities that you think are relevant or show your leadership or ability to work collaboratively as a member of a group.

"Go to the career center on your campus!!! " - Yes!

My son drafted a freshman resume with hs highlights, some college info, plus mention of an A+ certification (computer) he had done prior summer. Then he worked with the career center to review and tweak toward their recommended balance of hs/college bullets.

Go to the career center! they are always thrilled to see firstyears and it’s great to get a relationship with them early, anyway.

You are paying for them to be there, anyway.
