Hi guys, I’m filling out the Common App for Columbia and it asks if any of my relatives have ever attended Columbia University. This generally would seem easy, but my older sister attends Barnard and I still don’t really fully understand that relationship. Because of this, I don’t know if I should mark yes or no the question. I am inclined to say no, but if admissions would consider a Barnard sibling I would like to be able to put yes. If it said Columbia College or SEAS, I would obviously put no, but my sister says that they (Barnard) are sort of like a fourth undergraduate school in Columbia University. So do you guys know what I am supposed to mark in this case, I’m sure that somewhere they have released information on this, but I can’t seem to find it? Thanks!
Barnard is a fourth undergraduate school of Columbia U.
It’s okay to list your sibling as attending Barnard.
The four undergrad schools are Columbia College, Barnard, Columbia GS and SEAS.
Thanks for the answer.
