I have an interview with Exeter next month, and I'm not sure what to wear! I asked my guy friend what he wore, and he said a suit and tie - but I'm not a dude, so I was wondering what the equivalent would be? Maybe a blouse with flats and dress pants? Or a nice pencil skirt? I rarely encounter times when I need to dress formally, so I don't have those types of things hangin' around the house...

They told me what to wear... I believe for girls it was business casual and all the girls had black skirts or dress pants... Black high heel shoes looked uncomfortable i remember... Just blouses that don't look like you got it from a thrift store...in general what my mom used to wear to work.

and i am actually applying to be an upper also... good luck maybe we'll laugh about this next year if it turns out great for both of us.

Thanks for your responses everyone! I agree... business casual is the best bet. I'd just hate to look underdressed, and I equally hate to look overdressed. Are you guys applying to Exeter? If so, that's very cool!
You never know, we may be best friends in the coming year!

ewww don't worry about your attire
you'll look fabulous
wear comfortable shoes
i think girls are more comfortable in modest skirts (i definitely was, jeans sometimes you feel self conscious when you sit down XD) than any type of slacks or pants
REMEMBER
never hide your eyes.
that is a sign of .. i don't even know what. not a good sign. it just gives a bad vibe out lol

!!!! I think I'm just going to create something about juniors... you all may be in my future! As new students also! Since I know that I'm talking to intelligent and well-rounded people on here, I'm especially excited ;].

No offense guys, but basically at least one of us will be declined. Just food for thought, I came into it thinking my chances are slim and I mean with the rather low acceptance good luck, but don't count on being room mates and all.
IF anything, you guys look like good competition... So I know that it must be some place worth going.

i mean, add me on facebook or whatever and hell we could talk about the essays or what all this means. It is a bit shocking thinking that I might be going to boarding school, but it is chill.

A rather grim, (but honest) point of view. When it comes to Exeter, (and all of the other excellent schools I'm applying to) I prefer to think positively. I know the chance of getting in is slim, but I believe that I could really contribute to these communities, and grow as a person within them. The fact that we're all on here shows that you do as well :]. There are plenty of people applying (that make up a large sum of the rejections...) that aren't taking the time to prepare, learn, and question.

I'm going to live in my little fantasy world for now, where we all become friends and finish our high school years on such a positive note, haha. :D

Haha yeah it would be cool if we all made it in...
On the first day we should wear name tags around our neck with our log-in ID lol.
Yeah, the chances are slim, but you make them even more slim if you don't believe in yourself (I know, so cliche, but it's true.) That's why I don't ask "What are my chances?", because if people say "not too likely .. you need more ec's." or "you're too typical, you're a dime-a-dozen" then it'll obviously affect my confidence going into the interview, which will show through like crazy!
