Hi all,
I am trying to figure out my major(s) in college. I was interested in sports management and business, but I heard a sports management major is a waste of time. I was wondering if this was true. And based on that, I was wondering if I should not do a sports management major, maybe major in business and minor in sports management or vice versa or if I should consider double majoring in both.
Thanks
I think the idea of majoring in both, if you can, is good; maybe you can declare both as majors and then go from there and see which one you like. If you’re trying to figure this out so you can search for colleges, then I would just look for colleges that have both majors and minors in business and sports management, just in case you change your mind about either one of them later. Otherwise, I’d declare them both and start taking the required classes. If you can’t do both due to time restrictions, then I would major in business and minor in sports, just because, for internships and employment purposes, just in case, a business major would be more useful and less restrictive.
You could minor in sports mgmt if double majoring is too mcuh
Do you know where I could major in both @philbegas @cammarmor
That, my friend, is research you should be doing on your own. I don’t really care about sports so I don’t pay attention to what schools offer it but

If you do a college niche search for sports management you’ll get a pretty long list of schools. I imagine at some schools, sports management will actually be a concentration within the business mgmt degree. Also, because sports management is related to management, I imagine most schools that offer sports mgmt will have regular business majors too.
