<p>It should be 12. I have read in numerous college’s websites that they ask for 12.</p>

<p>I have a question of my own, and didn’t want to make an entire thread just for that. Can I use doesn’t, couldn’t, hasn’t? Or does it seem unprofessional and should stick to does not, could not, has not? I would prefer the first one, but with the second I reduce the number of words and get in the limit.</p>

<p>I highly recommend you use the latter as it is more formal. Try to cut down words elsewhere.</p>

<p>you would not say could not in a conversation - make it similar to how you speak</p>
