abercrombie for sure.. plus a bunch of desinger places like paul frank... or just small boutiques in LA/ Beverly Hiils especially the half off clothing store, y-que, & everything on robertson

Various places: Walmart, Sears, The Bay, Reitmans, occasionally The Gap...depends on what sort of clothes I'm looking for and how much I'm willing to spend.

I splurge occasionally on stuff from from Saks and Anthropologie, but most of my wardrobe is from JCrew, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, Janeville (haha their stuff is surprisingly cute), The Limited, and Gap. There's a Gap clearance store about 30 minutes from where I live that also has Banana Republic stuff and it's mostly under $10. I'm not very into the california-y style, yet I recieved a $200 gift card to Abercrombie as a graduation gift :-/

Hollister is a one-stop shop if you want see-thru tshirts and jeans that you have to wedge your way into...and thats if you buy them a couple sizes too big lol! I hate that store. And abercrombie....why pay that frickin much for clothes? crazy......

Walmart and Super Stop and Shop.

No, I agree, none of these stores are really high-end. The typical stuff people in my high school wear are Seven jeans and Lacoste/Le Tigre/RL polos. Stuff from Juicy, etc. Generally what you would find in Henri Bendel or Scoop

http://www.scoopnyc.com/ for an idea.

Longchamp and Herve Chapelier bags are popular, though some use Coach and even Balenciaga as school bags.

old navy and h&m and target
im a loser i know

also my grandma always gets us a lot of stuff from the base since grandpa was a veteran, so what i own is mixed.

i love race shirts u know the ones u get for entering/volunteering for a race, and also winners shirst for high school track so i have like 5 of them, i wish it was more
one time i got 5th place in an SMR relay as a 200m leg, so i got a medal, and long sleeve white shirt thats so pretty and it says like Mayors Cup Indoor Track and Field CHamps. its prob the only shirt+ medal im ever gonna win, since i suck. it was at my very first meet too, lol (the more i think about it, the more i am postitive there were only 5 relay teams competing lol) sad i know

Abercrombie,Hollister,American Eagle,Gap,Pacsun,Delias,Aero,bebe,forever 21

i order random t-shirts online (i.e. homestarrunner.com, shopodd.com, neighboorhoodies or whatever it's called) and get my jeans from wherever they fit correctly. i get band tees and stuff from hot topic (WARPED TOUR! teh sex.) and whatever else from the gap. i try and steer away from preppy clothing and really wear whatever's comfortable. lately, however, i've been getting into some vintage stuff...lots of 80s clothing.

zantedeschia, my school is exactly like that. a lot of people i know shop at scoop.

when people here are referring to abercrombie, buffalo and express as "upscale," what do they call lines like prada, yves saint lauret, louis vuitton, burberry, comme des garcons, dries van noten, costume national, dolce & gabbana, junya wantabe, miu miu, neil barrett, martin margiela, giorgio armani, ralphs lauren purple label, etro, gucci, roberto cavalli, dsquared2, jil sander, helmut lang, yohji yamamoto, i mean i could go on.

express, abercrombie, buffalo and the like are nowhere near the true "upscale" fashion and couture of the world. they are mid-level clothes made to emulate the upscale fashion for much cheaper.

omg like abercrombie and hollister totally!!!!

My daughters shop at Abercrombie, Neiman's, Saks, Express, BCBG, Barneys and occasionally American Eagle. Fashion is a big deal here...Louis Vuitton with $10.00 flipflops................

There's none of American eagle, abercrombie,etc.. here, but i wear:

Ralph Lauren
Places that resemble places like target (cheap tank tops, etc..)
Local shops where I buy stuff like shoes, skirts, etc..
Random versace and prada and d&g, chanel mini dresses
Acne jeans (THE perfect fit)
Dior and Chanel random stuff like jewlery
Lacoste (better fit for polos i think)
Vintage stores for pretty little earrings and bangles lol
No Balenciaga (for bags) and Marc Jacobs (for shoes) boutiques here, so I order them online

I like to mix cheap stuff with vintage stuff with designer stuff so I don't look too stuck up or something. My parents are designer freaks so they try to make me look all preppy :x

i love vintage too!

Dooney and burke do the best bags( i can only look...no store over here in Britain) so i'm very jealous!

New look

eh, I prefer Macys or other big large department stores

I dont like to spend too much time shopping around(like any typical guy) but lately I've gotten more fashion conscious since because I read GQ

[quote]
I shop at thrift stores, TJ Maxx, outlets, and the clearance racks of department stores, lol. I'm a bargain-hunter...

I don't shop at stores where I have to pay $20 for a t-shirt to advertise for them, so that rules out pretty much everything already named.

Hello friends :p It's glad to know that there are other people out there who can get past the superficiality of clothes :) Anyway, it's mostly all thrift stores for me to, save for the time that brand name stores have huge sales or hot deals.

I think I learned my philosphy from my dad, who came to United States (in San Francisco no less) with $500 in his pocket (that was it) in 1989 and then less than a decade later, was able to afford buying a $400,000. I guess I've learned that there are better ways to use your money.

"old navy and h&m and target
im a loser i know
"

NO YOU ARE NOT. In fact, you are one of the smarter people here. :)

Buying cheaper quality clothing is smarter? No, you're not a loser for wearing Old Navy or Target clothing, not in the least. But smarter than those who wear top quality clothing? I think not...

why would it be smarter to pay a lot more for clothes? wouldnt it be smarter to save the extra money and put it towards, oh i dont know, college??? i dont want to be offensive, because to each his own, but why would you spend a ton of money on clothes? to impress people? if you have to impress them with your clothes i would hate to be around you because of your personality. i think you're wasting your money but thats just my opinion

^^ Yeah I second that. I shop for good quality and nice looking clothes. For example, Not for Tommy Hilfiger Tshirt that cost 25 bucks just because it say Tommy on it.....oh come on? just for the name? is it worth it? to me.....no? After all it's just a plain dull shirt but with the logo on it.
