I am asking this random question.
Some guys care about clothes. But there are some who have their parents shop for them.
I know that girls just love shopping
Personally, I like to buy my own clothes. I sometimes take my brother with me so he can give me his opinion.
These are probably the only places I ever shop at for clothes.
(in order of likeness)
Express
Aeropostale
American Eagle

I heard Abercrombie & Fitch, and Pacific Sun are good too. Never tried.

What about you guys/girls? Where do you guys or girls shop at? And are they any of you that just don't care and have your parents shop for you?

I mostly shop at Banana Republic. I occasionally go to J Crew, but it's a bit too preppy for me. I have some Ralph Lauren polos for special occasions. Jeans you can sort of buy anywhere... Banana Republic, Express, DKNY, Gap, etc. T-shirts... anywhere. I'm not really into AE, AF, Hollister, etc.

I like EMS/REI/Patagonia for more practical outdoors stuff

J. Crew, Ralph Lauren outlets (never full price!), Free People, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters (the last three are sort of hit and miss, but sometimes you can find really nice things there), Betsey Johnson (expensive, but good for formal dresses), and others that I lust over but can't afford. I'm afraid my taste doesn't exactly match my level of, ah, affluence.

edited to clarify: basically, I buy sort-of-expensive clothes and wear them forever. I still wear clothes I bought when I was a freshman, and I'm a senior now (I've only grown an inch and gained less than ten pounds, so they still fit). I also buy designer clothes at second-hand stores whenever I can find them--I found a really nice Betsey Johnson dress for $18 once.

Forever 21 and H&M...and some stores connected to The Alley in Chicago. I like cheap and a wide selection.

Ideally I'd make my own clothes, because a) I'm a creative person; b) I don't like most clothes in stores anyway, and c) I really abhor sweat shops.

Usually my parents buy clothes for me, or I use hand-me-downs from my sister (they seem to surreptitiously slip into my closet at random intervals, so my wardrobe's gradually gotten bigger without me having done much shopping). A few months ago I recognized the need for a cooler wardrobe and posted a sign in someone's classroom saying something along the lines of "Nerd Seeking Fashion Advice -- come to the mall with me and pick out clothes I can wear to college without being laughed at -- willing to pay < $7/hour." A few trendy girls actually took me up on the offer (I submitted the sign anonymously, but it was pretty clear who did it), and now I've got a ton of clothes from American Eagle and Forever 21. (which I have been complimented on. a lot.) :D And I didn't even have to pay them...

someone on here mentioned free people. <3 i never actually shop there though which is weird. I just love their stuff.

Nordstrom mostly. They seem to have everything I want. If not there I'll go to Lucky Brand Jeans and Guess and then sometimes I'll take a trip to other places in the mall but mostly it's those three places.

I like anthropologie, delias (online), threadless (online - cool tshirts), and this line of boutiques next the the local beach (Barbie K, Kitten, etc.)...but I'll shop anywhere. I don't necessarily have a favorite shop. I'm not too picky when it comes to clothes. Truthfully, as long as it is warm and I'm comfortable in it, I'll wear it.

Hemingwayisdead - That's so cool. I've tried desperately to create things, but things as simple as frames tend to break in my hands.

when I need some cheaper stuff: h&m, old navy, target (those new designer lines ROCK), forever 21, random once in a blue moon department store finds

when I'm not broke: delias, nordstroms, random nyc boutiques, urban outfitters, jcrew

in order of likeness: ae, hollister, forever 21, pacsun, jcrew, aero
when i shop with my mom: nordstroms, macys, lord and taylor, CENTURY 21!!!and the others :)

I'm a guy and despise shopping and anything having to do with clothes. As a result I do hardly any shopping and usually just rely on clothes my parents pick up for me or I get as gifts lol. Usually the stuff is from Nordstroms judging by the bags.
