What the hell happened to the dartmouth board...where's the spirit?

This used to be the warmest most fun and happening board in cc:

what happened?

Where are all the happening people I'm going to be hangin' with next year?

Where'd Fountain and Raspberry go?

Where's all the others?

I thought that a lot of you just went to the board that Dartmouth set up for you on their site. Must admit, I am missing ya'll just a little too.

Where is that? I haven't been able to find it.

If you were admitted to Dartmouth, they provide you with the site

http://2009.dartmouth.edu/

and a password to log on. I think they sent it with the e-mail acceptance

Thanks - I'll check my daughter's packet.

Yeah...after D-day..things did fizzle a bit...I mean....a lot of us..for differant reasons found that we weren't going to D-mouth...so the board sorta became moot...I'm still around though...I miss blu so very much.

Hey guys,

Still around but more of a lurker than a poster now. Because I did ED, it's kind of hard to relate to all of the "Dartmouth vs. WIlliams" or "How to Boost My Financial Aid" convos. Can't wait till Dimensions though! You're going, right?

The Golden Age of this board was back in November/December before the original (early) D-day. I miss you guys.

lol elizabeth i disagree! it was great, waiting with everyone for RD.

and kb, don't MISS me! it's just that all the threads on this board are now pretty much admitted students with questions about Dimensions, move-in day, DARTMOUTH OR _______ ?!?!?!? HELP PLZZZ, and I mean...come on...what place us rejects and wait-listers have on a board like that?

Bluir,

How is it going? Whereever you end up you'll be at the center of the biggest crowd!

Good luck!

hahaha i'll be the center...but no one will know because everyone around me will be two feet taller lol.

But for real! it's like this has turned into...the COLUMBIA board (ew!) or something, ha

i miss you guys toooo

Yeah, I totally agree, blu. This board has become somwhat... shallow? With all the "help me make my decision" threads and stuff...

Oh, and it was the saddest sight ever when I came on here today: after I clicked on the Dartmouth College link, I looked to the left of the board and saw that there was only ONE red start next to the threads. ONE! I remember way back when every thread had a red star. :(

But I think we've just all kinda moved on, since most of the major posters on the Dartmouth board, welll... didn't get in, so we've all been scattered across CC as a result.

I miss everybody! :o

That seems pretty cool until I saw that the class of 2008 had a nearly identical website ( http://2008.dartmouth.edu/ ) where is the 2009 love?

Didn't apply even to Dartmouth

Hey everybody,

I miss hearing from all my friends on the Dartmouth board. It's nice to see Kalidescope shaking things up. Thanks Kal.

It seems the D board has become a home to a few and an oasis for many. A lot of the people posting are moving between boards trying to decide what to do, where to go, what they can afford, etc.

Elizabeth, ed was a great time!
Bluirinka, so was rd!
People were excited then; now, people are shopping.

Hey Raspberry, you've been here all along and you were the first to respond to my obligatory "chances" post for Dartmouth (you said it ‘looked good,’ glad you were right).

Hey Calidan, I LOVE Georgetown! I'm sure you will too. We have very good friends who live in Georgetown (Mac Arthur Blvd) and visit a lot.

Kb, you came to this board late but with a bang. See you at dimensions!

Hey everyone,
I stumbled across this on the Cal/Berkeley board. It's nice to see the reputation we aquired in cc recognized by others.

"CC forum stereotypes:"

"First there's the UChicago forum, where people debate virtually everything. The Dartmouth forum formed an incredibly tight community during the whole admissions process. The UCLA forum seems incredibly friendly and last but not least the Berkeley forum members spawn insults at each other every now and then. Come on guys, grow up a little."

no one misses me? :(

no.

LOL, jk. I come to this board and still feel permeated with love, so we are still alive and strong!

I miss you, babybird! And blu... ever so much. :p

And Fountain, I'm sure I will love Georgetown! I'm getting really excited to go.

this is like a reunion...i'm lovin it...good to see we are all still alive...

Wow, look at all those name up there!

Can't wait to live in the same town as some of you!

Good luck to everyone else! The Dartmouth Board in spring of 2005 will not be forgotten.

I miss you babybird!

peace
