What the negative of EA?

<p>So I get that only the most competitive people are accepted Early but what are the negative/disadvantage of applying Early? From what I heard when I was at ND on the tours they said they rarely flat out deny a kid in Early Action but defer them if they think they are at least somewhat competitive in the regular pool. So apart from getting a deferral letter for Christmas what are the disadvantages?</p>

<p>The only negative is that one has less time to prepare for the application. If you are ready, it is better for early action.</p>

<p>Not as much time to put things in the app, and you can get rejected. Fortunately, if you email a brief summary of your qualifications and the like to an admissions officer, they will tell you whether you should apply EA or RD. Trust them.</p>
