I was just curious about what tier WRA is in since i'm applying there.

It has a fine reputation. The best school is one in which you can excel, so don't worry about tiers.

Maybe second..? It's probably near the level of Cranbrook or Hill.

WRA is a very, very fine school with incredible facilities, in a charming small town. We live 40 minutes away and my d almost went there but chose andover instead. I think most kids would be very happy to be at WRA. It is a great school.

i just got a full merit scholarship to western reserve....
but I was also accepted into Lawrenceville, my DREAM SCHOOL!!!
should i turn down my scholarship to WRA and go to L'ville?

I think your parents might have some input there...

A family that goes to school with my son said in thier opinion, if Western Reserve were located in the Northeast it would be on the level of the MALP schools or even the top New England schools. It is due to the location that most feel it is "below" those.
I have no knowledge, just going on what they say. They have one child at Andover so they do have first hand knowledge of a top school.

Linda- that would be MAPL, and that includes Hill, Blair, L-ville etc.
I don't think you can go wrong with WRA, but Lawrenceville probably has a little bit stronger of a reputation, if you care about that. If you were my kid, given the money, you would be heading for Ohio!

I was going to apply to WRA but it's only 3 hours away--way too close to home for me haha.

Yes MomofWildChild - I typed too fast and got the letters mixed up!
I agree with you - my kid given the money would be off to Ohio as well!

Yeah.. I think I will go to WRA. It's just that I dont LOVE that school. It's the equivalent to the private day school I attend now (academically). I wish it had a better reputation.

I PMd you about WRA.
