<p>Hi. Just found out about this site. Great. My daughter has to pick between Mercersburg and Western Reserve. Anybody have any ideas???</p>
<p>She is also on a couple of waiting lists, but it appears that they are hopeless to get in, esp as contracts for above state "whole thing".</p>

<p>i know a lot of people at both schools and mercersburg is definately better as far as academics go. If your daughter is into sports Western Reserve has a very strong program.</p>
<p>I'd say WRA has a better location, but Mercersburg is probably the better schools in terms of academics. Both are excellent schools.</p>

<p>I love the MAPL schools, but I also feel Western Reserve is an excellent school. It doesn't get discussed as often on this forum because it isn't in the northeast!
Mercersberg is pretty remote but the setting is beautiful. You will travel far to get to sporting events at the other MAPL schools.
Glad you found this forum. My son is a grad of one of the other MAPL schools, and there are a couple Mercersberg grads who post on this forum. You can't go wrong with either school.</p>
<p>I don't know a lot about them, but a friend of ours is deciding between WR and a couple of New England schools. His mother said that it would definately get more attention if it were in the northeast and it is her feeling that it has almost 2 "tiers" within the school - one level of academics that is as tough as Andover Deerfield, Exeter, SPS etc (she has another child at one of those schools) and one that is a little less intense, but still very good. </p>

<p>i just was admitted to Westen Reserve and decided to attend. I've visited i on numerous occasions and i love the school. I'd reccomend WRA, but Mercersburg is a great school as well. The only thing i didnt like about it was its location(I live an 1 and a half hrs from WRA).</p>
