My daughter has a lot of schools posting to portals or emails on March 28 or April 1st. Is there a set time that these go out? or do we wonder all day.
Wonder all day. I’m sure each school has its own timeline (which also get adjusted as real life intrudes).
ugh… ok, thank you!
Many colleges will send out an email to your email address of record when the portals have been updated. Check your spam filter for the last email you got from that college, make sure that their domain is whitelisted. Check your portal the day before, I’ve read that sometimes they announce the time within the portal. It’s also a good idea to check the portal the day before just to be sure you know your portal ID and password, and that there aren’t any financial aid documents that they’re still waiting on - gives you something to do to pass the time.
An alternate way to know that decisions are out, if you don’t want to keep refreshing your email or your portal, is to watch the traffic on their sub-forum here. I’ve noticed a huge spike in traffic numbers on decision day at the time that decisions come out. And if you participate in that thread you will at least be in the company of people most likely to sympathize with your wait-induced anxiety.
Wonder all day, but sometimes, they’re early! My kids usually heard around 5 pm on the day, but had to keep refreshing the portal due to heavy traffic. Just have a nice dinner ready for your kid, either to celebrate or to console.
