It is 11:59 in what time zone? Or is it based on the time zone of the school? HELP!!!!!!!!

If I were you, I would submit the application a couple hours before the deadline because the server could crash.

A better idea is to submit it a few days ahead of time … It is insane to cut these things so close to the line that you have to worry about a few hours.

Wow, pizzagirl, I guess you’ve never had to turn in a project that you’ve worked on for weeks only to have it suddenly look like garbage so you panic and start all over again.

Of course it’s better to turn it in early! And certainly don’t wait until 11:59. But I think it’s fair question to ask, if 11:59 is eastern or pacific time. (I don’t know the answer, I’m sorry.)

I don’t know- you could always contact common app or your schools to ask. But I would assume it’s eastern time (that’s the one that’s earlier, right?) just to be safe.

A day or two before. Start work now to be ready, and don’t submit yourself to any of the above described panic attacks. It’s just nerves, and an essay that you wrote while you are in your right mind will be better than one written by a nervous wreck. I’m sure that colleges will take anything in the general vicinity of the deadline. They’re benevolent people that won’t reject you because of a 2-hour delay. But, lots of people do this and the servers get bogged down, so be early.
