What to call the Class of 2010?

Here’s a random thought for the day:

What we are going to call the class of 2010? Most classes abreviate all time. We’re the “class of oh-nine”, etc. But “class of ten” just doesn’t sound right. Neither does “class of one zero” or any other way I can think of. Well, I guess it’s up to you all.

Oh, and every class has a motto too, for example '09 is “our time.” I think '08 is “choose your fate.” You’ll chant it alot in basic. Anyone have any ideas for 2010’s chant?

I can't remember exactly, but isn't it "RTB"? The class color for '10 is red, and that was the color of the first 4th class cadets to attend the school.

RTB refers to all members of red classes. If you want the background to this, I can explain. One of the members of the class of '62 gave a speech to my class (which is also a red class) at our Recognition dinner concerning how they acquired the name. Do you know what RTB stands for?

That has nothing to do with the class chant, though.

On the note of what to call them, you could still technically call them "zero ten" as there is a zero before the 10.

I can't remember what RTB stands for. I think b stands for bastards, though.

Thanks anyway

[ubergeekyness] how about the class of two? 10 is two in binary![/udergeekyness].

Im partial however for the i-dont-care-what-were-called-just-as-long-as-get-into-this-place!!!
'
the IDCWWCJALAGITPs!!! WOOT!

its way to late to be online

Also, class chants don't need to rhyme. My class's chant is "Feel the Fire," although now when someone mentions 2006 in a briefing, we yell "Spaaaaaatz" who is our class exemplar.

Each class is given a chant, which some keep, while some decide to change, and others end up yelling other things (like their class exemplar's name). In BCT, everyone says the official chant, though.

RTB stands for "Red Tag Bastards"

I would think class of ""oh-ten" still works. As to the chant, how about "oh-ten, wins again" ?? LOL

Our class came with at least half a dozen different chants involving our motto or just our class name. One our favorites ("nah-nah-nah-nah, nah-nah-nah-nah, hey hey hey, oh-nine" sometimes alternating between "oh-nine" and "our time") actually got banned. I'm not sure why. People would just start shouting one out, and if it was good enough, it would catch.

Our class doesn't have an exemplar yet. We just voted on one though, and it's probably going to be a Col. Hubert Zemke by a good majority. We'll find out at Pinnacle , or Recognition if they bring it back.

what about "twenty-ten", or "one-oh"?

Right now, I have a personal chant that goes:

"Oh-Ten, please let me in!"

Hopefully I'll be able to change that soon though.

What is the Pinnacle and the Commandants Challenge and all that?

Commandant's Challenge and the Pinnacle are "major training events" that have been created in the last year or two that center arounf all four classes working together.

Recognition was a tradition that was done away with right after my class. It was in the spring and was just for the four degrees. It lasted 3 days and was exhausting in every possible aspect. The four degrees worked together as a class to make it through while the upper 3 classes ran it. It was hell to go through but at the end you really felt like you accomplished something and were very proud as a class to have done it yourself.

I hope they do bring Recognition back this year. The only issue will be what part 07 and 08 will play in it, seeing as they never went through Recognition themselves. But still, I really hope it comes back.

See its those challenges like that is what made me fall in love with the academy. While i am sure there are a million other challenges which would make it a bitter-sweet love... i still want something like that. The intense mental and physical challenge with the accomplishment afterwards...

Again, it was things like that which made me interested in the academy in the first place.

Oh well...again, still need to get accepted before i start thinking about that.

Heh...I thought about this another time in the forum..Ny suggestion was "2010 Let's be friends!" Fearsome huh? lol...
