giani- I think that bag is huge to carry around campus. You're going to look like you're hiking everyday.

For the past year I used a shoulder bag I bought from Nine West. It holds maybe three textbooks, but I've never really had a problem with it. The way I see it, what's the point of having a huge bag when you shouldn't be carrying so much weight on your back anyway? I plan to use nothing bigger than a cavas tote next year.

I think that maybe you are failing to realize how many classes you will be taking every day.

You may only be taking 3 or 4 at a time and your schedule might only put 2 per day. That doesnt equate to a lot of stuff to carry at once.

Laptop Bags scream "STEAL ME I'M EXPENSIVE" i'd buy a bag that looks like a regular bag, or a slevee so that it protects your laptop in you bag, if you have an apple :) there are many bags that are fit for the 12" and so on, but i personally like lifepod accessories for laptops. http://www.lifepod.net/ and such..

I was just at a gap store yesterday and they had several of the bags that I have still in stock (and at a lower price). One of my friends saw it and immediately bought it for her laptop because it just seemed like a perfect bag. $24.

What bags are those?

some laptop bags sold by gap, I havnt seen them online.

There is a black/gray one (not mine) and a olive/green one with orange on the inside (mine)

There are some nice laptop sleeves at ebag.com for around $20. They have a nice notebook bag finder too.

Osprey, Deuter, Eagle Rock, and Oakley offer laptop backpacks that look like their regular backs. All are excellent quality...my preference being Osprey. It's incredibly comfortable with the best pads in the world. Most of all, it's durable and tough, but incredibly light.

Well, I had thought about bring my Tumi computer brief, but I am beginning to have some second thoughts. I mean, the bag practically fits everything, but it also cost a pretty hefty chunk of change. It is really quite functional and isn't flashy, but I don't want to be separated and alienated...

http://www.tumi.com/search/expandable_flap_computer_brief/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=15385

Since it was something like a gift, I can't really return it... And I already have another notebook bag that I won't use since it is a designer brand that cost a even larger chunk of change and is hard to use (what were they thinking anyway?).

I also have a Tumi backpack that I have used for quite a few years already. I might choose to bring that instead, but it is pretty bulky.

If you want your son to look good carrying his laptop, you should buy him a Louis Vuittion laptop case. I have one and people always ask about it.....Its really nice and gets many compliments..

threepointninceseven (HU) lol..i wouldn't wanna carrey a LV laptop case, expensive and someone might try to steal that. But maybe thats just me i usually don't like Expensive stuff. Nice Bag though.

I dont even like the way they look. What happened to design? Since when does splattering your logo over everything in a simple repeating pattern make it a must-have item?

When I was in NYC a year ago, I was looking through chinatown for a knockoff purse for my girlfriend. It was harder than it should have been because they were all so ugly...it was just a bunch of LV's on the same drab colors...they were all the same print, nothing special--I finally found a nice prada knockoff in white leather...

I am not too fond of Louis Vuitton bags, since they aren't really that practical. I should know, I have one of their messenger bags (not fit for my notebook) and there is practically nothing inside. It is just one hard and stiff messenger bag.

It is a good thing that it was a gift from one of my mom's friends in Japan, since I would never have bought it. I remember when I was in France, there was a line of Japanese people lined up at the Louis Vuitton boutique. LV only allowed (and this policy still holds true) each customer to purchase only two handbags.
