Okay so I took the ACT once earlier this year and got a 29. I was pretty happy with that as a starting point, but it was the free version my school had all of us Juniors take; meaning it lacked the writing supplement that most colleges that I want to apply to require. I retook it with the supplement and feel I did worse - significantly so. I kind of fell apart during the science section. I skipped around and had a slight mental panic, so to speak. I already signed up to have it sent to my 4 top choice colleges, and never cancelled the scores. My question here is - if I get a good score on the SAT and send that to colleges (most only need one or the other) will they look past the ACT score? Or come application time is there any way to not have them look at the ACT score with my college application? I only ask this because I took that SAT and felt really good about it. If (tomorrow when I get my score) I am very satisfied with my score, can I possibly just not take the ACT again? Or now that the bad score (I'm assuming it's bad) is going to be sent to my top 4 colleges, is the only way to fix it to retake and score higher on the ACT?

I know that might be a lot to read and a bit confusing but thanks for reading. As a quick reiteration, I'm wondering if the sent ACT scores effect my application. Or if I can just only show the SAT score when I send in my actual application, and they won't take the ACT score I sent into consideration.
