What to do days between moving in and starting school?

I move in August 15/16, start school August 20. What did you do or planning to do?

Meet people, go to parties, find your classes so you know where to go on the 20th, play pick-up games of (insert sport here), try out every place to eat on campus, go throw a football around, come in at 3am just because you can, buy any books you couldn't find anywhere else, etc.

Most schools also have a ton of planned activities.

Run around and pull out a light saber and tell people that the force is with them!

Do NOT sit in your room with the door closed.

My school has "Welcome Week" where there's a bunch of planned activities and stuff for the days before you start class and the first week of class. Also, you can go and look for your classes, see how long it takes you to get from building to building, find the student rec center and the student union, meet people in your dorm.

Meet people and have some fun before you loaded up with work and readings. Also, get everything organized - get your student card, your keys, find out where your classes are, go buy your books, get anything you forgot to bring to school, etc.

"Do NOT sit in your room with the door closed.'

That's probably what I'm going to do! Not that I want to but I'm scared people will not take kindly to my expressionless face and twitching and . stuff.

Meet people.

Explore the campus.

Drink.

You can knock all three off at the same time if you're good.

Get to know campus. Get to know guys/girls in your section/dorm. Get to know people outside of the dorm. Get things that you need for the school year. Get things for your dorm room.

buy anything you realized you forgot, explore your college town, pick up your football tickets/parking permits/student id, go to the rec center and figure out locker rental/towel fee/etc, go to parties.

Isn't that orientation?

Well.. for us it was in any case.

Get your financial situation sorted out...? i.e. if you don't have a bank account already, um it's about time. Or if your bank doesn't have branches where you go to college, switch!!!!

This is what at my school is called DISorientation. Basically everyone drinks.

my school has a completely packed orientation week.
