Don't you move in like 3-4 days before school starts? Once you've moved in, what can you do around campus?

What school are you going to? I’m sure there are specific places for different schools.

Once you move in I would probably try to set up wifi on your laptop or internet in your room. Next find out where your classes are around campus. Explore places to eat downtown or campus.

Special madatory class like things.

Social activities.

Hung out with people on my floor, went to parties, wandered around campus to find my classes, decorated my room, bought books I still needed/ran last minute errands, went out to dinner in town/at different dining halls, stuff like that.

I did NOT: sit in my room playing video games/watching TV/reading/studying for classes.

All you freshies need to chill out, you likely will be so busy the first few weeks you won’t have time to think.

Find someone to hook up with.

This.

My school had a bunch of activities set up for incoming students.

unpack, meet people on your floor, do random social things, party, explore campus, find your classes, buy your books, eat, school-sponsored welcome activities, study (if you’re unlucky and get a professor that assigns something due the first day), buy things you forgot to pack, maybe even sleep a bit.

whatever you want to do, have fun at the start because classes get harder real fast when the semester gets going.

It depends on your school.

I spent most of the first day unpacking and hung out with the people on my floor the first day. Then I had a half day mandatory meeting thing for my major that had information about advisers, classes, student panels and a bunch of boring stuff. Once that was through I wandered around a bit then had dinner with my floor and went to this party thing with vendors who were giving out free stuff and bought stuff I needed but forgot. The final day I wandered campus, found my classes, and then went to an event where all the clubs from the school were trying to get people to sign up.

Orientation, hanging out with floormates, getting textbooks, sleeping…there’s lots to do.

From what I recall i moved in on friday and had classes on monday or tuesday. So prior to class I got to know my roommate, set my up room, went to a soccer game, met people in my dorm area, got my textbooks at the co op, and found where all my classes were and attempted to make shortcut paths so i would be on time.

Explore, hang out with friends, buy books, etc.

You will party a lot. Welcome week or whatever your school calls it is one of the best times of the year.

Not necessarily. My school does Rush during that time, so girls aren’t allowed to drink or be around boys during that time frame. (Not sure about fraternity rules) It’s pretty much the only time of year when the party scene at USC is pretty dead.

Welcome Week has tons of activities. You meet people. You explore. It’s all new and everything seems interesting… even just walking around campus.

Orientation activities, getting to know people, registering for classes (at my school, anyway), exploring the area, etc.

Usually when you move in, there are some activities for students, especially freshmen, to get to know each other and just hang out. And if you’re just looking for something to do, you can always go check out where your classes are going to be so you have a good estimated time on how long it will take you to get to them.

sit quietly in your room and fidget anxiously with the ends of your shirt.

that’s what i did, anyway.
