what to do for UCs? regarding SAT score

I'm applying to Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD OOS (I'm from CT). Long story short, I have a 2300 superscored (750CR, 790M, 760W), a 34 ACT, in the top 2% of my school which sends around 5-13 kids to top schools each year, and have taken 4 AP tests and got 5's on them all. Decent EC's, tons of leadership.

However, my problem is with my SAT scores. I have a 740 on US History and an 800 on Math 1, but unfortunately the UC's only take Math II. I took Spanish with Listening in Nov and did horribly (590).

My questions are
1) Does this 590 bring me down a lot in admissions (how heavily do they weight these)? What would my chances be with it as opposed to otherwise?
2) If it brings me down a lot with the UCs, should I standby and take another test on Dec 5? What would be the easiest tests to study quickly for?

Thank you so much!

I would take another test perhaps Math II?

UCs don’t superscore. If I were you, I would take Math 2 in December. Since you did awesome on Level 1, you should do fine and it would help you in admissions.

You should definitely apply. Berkeley does not have the same admissions policy and requirements as the ivies or top privates.

If you’re not applying for engineering, comsci or any program not directly related to maths and the like, you’re SATs are okay. But if you’re eying on any of those programs, you should definitely take Math 2.

Berkeley loves students who were HS achievers which are demonstrated through their HS achievement ranks (top 10% in the whole HS batch), and you’re being in the top 2% would simply make you a good candidate.
