What to do here????

I am applying to Northeastern, so I called the office of admissions back in January or so, and asked them when the deadline was for transfer students, and they said may 1, and I asked if it was rolling, and they said no, and just to make sure I speifically asked, so it will not be advantageous to me to apply before May 1, because it will all get reviewed after May 1 anyway, and they said yes. So im thinking this is good, I dont have to stress out about getting it in on a certiant date. I ended up submitting it on April 1, because Northeastern was on the common App, and another school I was applying to was due on April 1, so I figured why not just get them both done at the same time. So anyways, I get this email back from Northeastern saying that they have all my necessary information blah blah blah, and then at the very bottom of the email, it said this

*Please note that the deadline has passed for freshman applying for the fall 2007 semester. Applications received after the January 15th deadline will be reviewed on a space-available basis.

Now I almost had a heart attack when I read this. First of all, that is not at all what I was told, secondly, I applied WAY after January 15th. What if they run out of space because someone in the admissions office messed up? So I dont know what I should do here. Should I contact them or what?

It says FRESHMEN APPLICANTS, are you not a transfer applicant? Perhaps they sent you the wrong standardized letter?
