What to do in this situation?

Hello everybody. I transfered into a ccc from an out of state school. Apparently my ccc won't give me equivalent courses but has cleared me of prerequisites to take higher level courses. I did a full year of college work in my old school.

My consuler told me that I have to let the uc schools determine if my out if state school work is transferable to uc campuses. What happens if my out of state school coursework isn't up to standard? Wouldn't I be rejected?

Should I just restart over from the beginning to increase my chances or should I just continue on to higher courses? Has anybody here transferred into a ccc then into a uc?

The UCs have counselors that visit each CCC on a regular basis. I suggest that you set up a meeting the next time they visit your campus.

Also if you were originally an OOS resident and not a CA resident who attended college somewhere else, note that the residency rules for UC are very strict. Even if you qualify for in-state rates at your CC they may still consider you an OOS student at UC. See the info at any UC campus; for example http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/residence/

I’m not worried about residency. I moved here to California to stay with my father. I’ll be in ccc for at least 2 years.

Also thanks for your advice. I’ll keep it in mind
