What to do now,

Hey all,
Since my UCD admission has been rescinded for getting an F in calc II, I have another year and about 19 units to spend to fill in pre-reqs. I have 61 units, and 80 units is the max for UCD. I heard that the unit max will be lifted, but I wont go over just in case →

So here are the courses completed that is relevant to my “general biology” major. (IGETC is finished)

Chem 1A + 1B
Calc 1 + 2(calc 2 will be done this summer)
Bio 1A

Fall 2012: my plan is to at least take Bio1B and OChem 1. Together they are 10 units.

Spring 2013: Plan: Take Ochem 2 (5 units). And MAYBE physics 4a or calc 3…

Now since after fall 2012, ill only have 9 spare units. Then 4 left over units for (Ochem 2 is 5 units).

There are certain pre-reqs for UC Berkeley, UCSD and UCLA.

Assuming I pass 1B, and Ochem 1 and will be doing Ochem 2,

For UCB, I will have everything done BUT the physics course (4a, 4b)
UCSD: I will need Calc 3 and physics 4A,4B,4C

For UCLA, I have a choice – Either Biology or Human biology and society( which is a very new major, so im not sure about this one).
But I feel like I will have to make another thread for this later.

My question is: How will I fit physics in and if not possible (because of the unit cap or because taking bio, ochem and physics at once seems impossible) how much will it matter? I know assist.org says ALL pre-reqs are required.
and Im sorry if this post seems disorganized.

Bump,
Would like feedback so i can sign up for classes ASAP

Have you taken credit from any college other than a CCC?

I spent a quarter at UCSC, about 10 semester units. I htink because of this I have a 80 unit limit

Ya you do unfortunately, unless they change the policy. I would tailor your classes around your top schools and what they specifically require. What’s your current GPA without that F?

I think about 3.0 - 3.1 =(

Without the F included? If so, I wouldn’t focus on the classes for UCLA and Berkeley, and instead focus on Davis, Irvine, and Santa Cruz.

…and Santa Barbara.

Hi, thanks for the reply
Irvine/SB has pretty much the same prereqs as LA and SD.
They want everything including Calc 3 and Physics.
So my question is how will I be able to do physics if i only have 19 units left over??
I have to take at least ochem 1/2 and Bio 1b which is already 15 units.

Bump…
plan so far
fall 2012
ochem 1 and bio 1b

spring 2012
ochem 2
some other class that is 4 units or under.

If you can bring your GPA up to a 3.2 by the end of Fall, you could possibly TAG to UCI/UCD without completing all of the pre-reqs. They will require you to complete certain pre-reqs however. Also, check if UCI accepts students at senior standing, I think they might.
