What to do Now?

@sincostan I’m so used to reading so fast because most of the stuff is easy for me haha this is making me think. At Barnes and Noble when I asked the lady where it was she was like “oh, are you buying it for a parent?” And I looked at her and said “No” then she kept rambling on about how ‘the book was really mature and disturbing in some ways’ and all I replied with was “I doubt watching the news is any better” and she totally stopped it was hilarious

Applied at Choate, Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, Groton, Lawrenceville, Middlesex, and St. Paul’s!! I

@ccnaf14
wait until you reach the whole political treatise section in the middle - I had to reread that a dozen times.

@waiting4march10 oh joy haha. I quite like the book though, no idiots in my class not understanding Russian History this time so that’s a plus! Well, maybe see you at Middlesex in September?

14 days 10 hours 32 minutes 50 seconds

@ccnaf14 1984 was like an indoctrination to me, but it suffices. cough cough Brave New World is better cough cough I’m not applying to Middlesex, but good luck anyway!

@waiting4march10 I got you mixed up with other people haha. Currently I have the book open and I highlighter dangling from the corner of my mouth. My dad’s annoyed with me asking so many questions haha

@ccnaf14 Haha that post about the lady and news was hilarious! Some of the parts do get “mature”, if you get what I mean. And I had so much trouble with 1984, especially the beginning. But after a while, it becomes almost too easy to read and too hard to put down.

I might just pick up 1984 while I’m at the Barnes and Noble today

@sincostan I went to both my advisor (who is an English teacher) and my current English teacher to explain to me a part but none of them have read it… George Orwell is like one of those authors that ALL English teachers have to read.

And the barnes and noble lady was hilarious! I saw someone walking in about 15 asking for a book I had read in 5th grade, some people set such a low expectation, she was so shocked I wanted to laugh so hard. My dad got mad at me because apparently that’s ‘talking back’ so yeah haha.

@sorifootball13 That’s a great idea!

@ccnaf14 That’s pretty sad. I don’t want to sound sanctimonious or something, but I don’t think we should be talking about other people in such a manner. And I’m guilty of that too, but I think that we should stop.

Just started 1984…It’s pretty… different

@sorifootball13 :)) What did you expect? It’s an Orwell book!

@sincostan OMG lol!!

Did anyone get that weird glitch email from st.paul’s this morning? It was regarding the log-in for the online decisions.

Every school is having issues

And I received the same email

BUMP BECAUSE I CAN

Um are we still talking about books? Because everyone should check out Prep by Curtis Sittenfield. It’s loosely based on her experience at Groton, and it’s a work of pure genius.

I know I’m just a decrepit old woman with a fondness for Ferragamos and tweed skirts… but I think you guys should just put in the earbuds and dance. I can almost guarantee you’ll feel better. You’re almost there- celebrate a little. :)

@PhotographerMom, I already got you covered with the earbuds. Jammin to Beyonce!

Drunk in Love is literally the song of the decade. I don’t remember a time (in my brief lifetime) when a song was so popular.
