What to do on the Math II

So I’m going to tell you my experience. Most people on College confidential said buy Barron’s and Chungs! It will totally help! It may work for some people, but it definetly did not work for me. I was getting in the high 600 and low 700 range on my practice tests on those books. And then I went in to take the test. NOTHING like the practice out of those books. It was totally different, lots of word problems, different mathematical concepts. I got a really really bad score on this exam. So, I recommend anybody reading this, buy the collegeboard books. Now I know you should never buy those, but for Math II it’s essential. It gives you a clear concise format on how the test is going to be, and you’ll be much more prepared with that book. Also just one of my tips, the test goes by really fast so bring a watch and don’t use the max number of questions you can skip. It’ll just trip you over and it’s a recipe for disaster. Hope this helps some people!

Most people that use Barron’s also get 1 or 2 official tests to adjust to the exact format. Barron’s and Chung’s are also good because it overprepares you for the test difficulty.

Personally, I thought that Chung’s tips were ridiculous–who is going to remember a bunch of tricks when faced with a 50 questions to complete in an hour? Barron’s was helpful for the lessons, but the practice tests were definitely harder than the College Board test. I agree that taking at least one official practice test is important.
