My red book arrived that was over thirty dollars and everyone on this forum is saying the tips in it don't work and the Barrons 36 or Princeton books and others have better tips? So did I just waste my money? I'm definitely going to use the practice tests in it but are the tips not that good?

I used the red book (and some stuff online and a math book) and raised my score from a 29 to a 32 so I would say it’s useful. There just isn’t that many tips to begin with. The practice tests are key though because they’re actually real ACTs. Make sure that you time yourself just like you should when you take them and look over your answers afterwards. I’d say it is definitely worth it. Good luck!

I got a 28 with really no studying. I thought if I actually studied through a book and practiced, I can get a 32+? My reading is the worst so I plan to practice the most there.

I’d say reading is definitely a section you can improve on with practice. The more practice you do, the easier it is to see patterns in test questions and recognize what they’re looking for. Also, practice can help you increase your reading comprehension and speed. Good luck!
