what to do?

so i just finished my first year at a top 15 college and realized (too late) that it wasn't the college for me--i kept thinking it would get better, and all of a sudden it was the end of the school year and it had gotten worse

when i arrived home, i realized how unhappy i was (with the perspective that only hindsight can bring) and how much i dont want to go back. but i dont know what to do now--all of the transfer applications for colleges at the same level of my school are past (i had good grades btw). is there anyway i could still apply to these schools for next fall? any chance theyll look at me?

YES--A lot of people apply as sophomores and transfer as juniors.Thats what i'm doing. I'm applying this fall and will hopefully matriculate into my junior year at whichever school i choose to go to.

What is your major? And which school are you in?

You will have to spend one more year at your current college before you can transfer

currently, im a philosophy major at jhu

im worried abt applying as a junior transfer--isn't it a lot harder to make the switch then? everyones kinda found their niche...can i have any perspectives from people who have made the switch as a junior?

plenty of people have. you'll be fine.

edit: i was also a freshman at JHU last year. good luck with your transfer if you decide to.

so why'd you decide to leave JHU? I was thinkin of applyin there but heard a couple people were murdered on studentsreview.com, so I thought again.

i think the murders were instigated by troubled relationships? this was a year before i matriculated, so i have less details about it.

my reason to leave JHU is probably a little specific towards my case.

ok i see (10 char)

a couple of students were murdered? geeeeeez..
