Ok so i have a really big decision to make within the next couple of days.

I really love love LOVE Wesleyan University (visited twice, interviewed, know a bunch of people in the admin office), and i was told by the associate dean of admissions that if i were to apply EDII I'd have a great chance of getting in.

The problem is that I'm applying to 18 schools (including Yale, Upenn, D)...and i still have some hope for those.... I want to major in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics and the programs at Yale and Penn are AMAZING for that major

I'm just so conflicted because I know I'll have a better chance at Wes EDII, and I'm afraid that if i let the chance pass by I'll get rejected regular decision and also get rejected from Penn and Yale....but then what if i get into Wes EDII when i could have also gotten into Penn RD.....

I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO T_T

Someone please give me some advice......

Since Wesleyan isn’t your first choice, don’t apply ED. If you apply ED and get in, you’ll have to withdraw your other applications, and you’ll always wonder, “What if?”

I agree with NSM- Early Decision is for those with a clear first choice. Since Wesleyan isn’t your clear first choice, don’t apply ED.

I know but I’d just be so devastated if i got outright rejected RD to all 3 schools…i figure i better take what i can get at the “most likely” which is Wes…

Anyone else going through the same thing?

I’m going through the same thing – with Wesleyan too!

Wesleyan is definitely my first choice. And applying EDII would certainly help my chances.
However, after filling out applications for 14 other schools, I’m kind of curious to see what would come back. However, I know that the school I really want to go is Wesleyan (no matter what the other responses are); thus, I am applying EDII. Even if the other 14 schools accepted me (fat chance, lol), I know I would pick Wesleyan.

I would you should go with your gut feeling. Don’t apply to Wesleyan because you’re scared of not getting in. If there is a school you know you’d rather go to, you’ll be spending the next four years saying “what if?”
No matter what happens, I’m sure you’ll end up somewhere you love!

That’s pretty crazy pizzazz! I went ahead and mailed the dean to put me in for EDII. The worst thing that could happen now is they actually accept me! LOL

I don’t regret a thing :)
