What to do.

So I post on here a lot...and its because I don't really know what to do. I go to a liberal arts college, where I thought that the students would be highly motivated, participate in class discussions, and just more intellectual in general. I like to participate in discussions, and the other students look at me like I'm a know it all or am pretentious. I also study a lot, so that I am prepared for my classes, which leads some of my friends think I'm a nerd.I'm not even antisocial, I just really enjoy college. I also like going out and having a good time on weekends. Would I benefit from transferring to a more selective college where students are more motivated and actually want to learn? If so which do you recommend? My HS stats are decent, 3.7 UW, 1940 SAT, Lots of EC's, but they're not spectacular.

Don’t worry about people who think you’re a nerd; they’re just jealous. I strongly suggest you finish your degree from your current college. All colleges are going to have their share of ‘anti-intellectuals’. You just need to learn to deal with them.

yeah, seriously. Life has always been like that for me, and I could care less about the sad excuse for a student sitting next to me who will end up working at a deskjob they hate. If the overall life at your school now is bearable, stick with it. who knows what a diff place would be like if you transfer, but then again maybe youll be happier. you gotta make a decision and only you know whats best for you.

You will be happier at your current college if you make some new friends who don’t use the word “nerd” as though it is an insult. You aren’t the only one who prepares for class, and pays attention once there. The next time you are participating in the class discussion, take note of the others who are as well. Have lunch with them instead of your usual gang. You might find your peer group.

Good luck!
