What to Give My Guidance Counselor - Help Please?

I filled out my transcript release form, and I have the envelopes ready for each school that I am applying to as well as secondary school reports, additional sheets, etc. However; I just have 2 questions about this process:

I address the envelopes to the individual schools, correct?

There is a $5 fee per transcript sent - should I include the money in the individual envelopes? Also, with checks - should I make them out to my high school?

Thank you!

Geez, I was thinking you were asking what to “give”, as in a gift, for all the work & effort it takes to help get applications out, not to mention guide us all through the process. Chocolates, flowers, gift certificates?

But, haha! Nope.

To answer your basic question, it totally depends on your school. Some charge for transcripts, some don’t. Some need envelopes, others send everything electronically. Ask them!

^ Haha. Speaking of, I should probably get her one of those gifts!

I kind of figured out the answers myself - who knew to look in the College Planning handout they gave us at the beginning of the year?

Thanks anyways!

Since your high school is charging for the transcripts, the monies should be paid to them. Yes, you should make the envelopes out to the schools where you want the information sent.

I would also place a postcard in the envelope addressed to you (home) on one side. On the other side I would puT:

Received by_________________ Date____________________

Name of college

In the corner, TR for transcripts.

This way, when the school receives your information, they will send back the post card.

Ask your HS if they want you to provide envelopes. Some HSs require official documents to be sent out in official school stationary, hence the fee.
