What did everyone wear to their interviews?

suit and tie no doubt

ditto suit and tie, but if its alumni interview at starbucks or a house or somehthing then business casual is okay

What about for girls?

nothing...jk

Uhhh...business clothes if its formal.

^yep, business clothes is what a lot of people wear.

the girls ive met at these interviews wore girls suits, whatever you call that

depends on the type of interview. I wore jeans (NO HOLES!!!) and a nice shirt at my most casual interview--Yale Alumni interview at Starbucks-- to dress pants and a blazer at my most formal interview--RPI/AMC interview.

I did see another girl during my USC interview wearing a wayyyy too short dress (whoops).

Most of the ones I've gone to have said that business attire is recommended.

and when they say business casual, wear a suit!

I just wore slacks, an informal full-sleeves buttow down shirt (from express), and a blazer (not a formal one, but the ones that you can wear with like a t-shirt and jeans) with semi-formal dress shoes. no tie.

I already got accepted into one combined program, so i guess it worked =P

Good luck to everyone!!

I wore a skirt suit and heels but some other girls interviewing the same day dressed more casually like cords and a blazer.

The interview I wore a kilt to didn't go so well if anyone was wondering about wearing one.

awhislyle... did you really wear a kilt?? hahaha... oh goodness... what was the interviewer's reaction? I bet it was priceless

I went with black suit, black under, and red tie.

If you're a guy, I would go with business attire, dark suit, lighter shirt (blue, white, yellow, etc) and matching tie.

For most of my interviews, I wore a black suit, light blue shirt, and blue tie.

/thread----

girls should wear a pant suit in my opinion, generally I see girls wearing sweaters and black slacks which is just too casual

For guys, I'm partial to the black/blue suit, white shirt, dark tie. I think that really makes an outstanding combination and it presents one well. But that's just the GQ reader in me wanting to interject :).

Girls, I agree, need to wear a pantsuit. I saw girls at a couple of my interviews wearing long sleeve knit shirts and flowy dress bottoms and I think they looked really out of place. I don't want to offend anyone here, but when you're competing with other men who are (unofficially) required to dress in a suit, I think there are some people who expect women to dress in the same fashion. And I think it looks a lot more serious, too.

I have my HPME interview this week…
For most my interviews with college alumni recently, I’ve been wearing a skirt, black tights, black high heel ankle boots and a top, sometimes with a suit jacket… is this appropriate or too unprofessional? I’m really into fashion, but should I stick with the 0 personality suit? Plus, how short is too short for a skirt? I’m not showing anything, but in terms of professionalism, just below my fingertips too much?
