What to Wear on Revisit Days!

Don’t worry, kids, prep schools are getting less and less preppy in an exclusively-fashion-based sense.

But for your revisits, yeah, just go with the dress code. Hotchkiss: Boys, you’ll probably want to be Dress Code +1 (khakis, jacket, oxford, tie) and Girls, polo, skirt, sweater, flats. More classic than some of what you’ll see here, but you know, never hurts to give preppy preps like myself a false sense of security about the incoming class ;)

FYI for New England visitors
-We had warm late spring weather last week in New England, but we are right back to cold, rainy weather this week. It is most definitely NOT sandal weather this time of year. Wear shoes that can get wet or muddy. Be sure to check the weather before packing. It could easily be 30 degrees in the morning and 70 in the afternoon, sunny, rainy or snowing! Layers are best and stick to dress code. Try to relax and enjoy yourself!

That’s disappointing. I have lots of cute spring clothes, but winter is just so… blah. I guess I just need to go shopping; at least the stores all have sales on winter stuff right now!

Spring Visit Day @ Choate:

Boys: Collard shirts, turtleneck, sweaters, slacks (e.g. khakis or corduroys)
Girls: Skirts, Slacks, or dresses.

Not very descriptive, but gives you a general idea to go on.

bumpp, i still need more ideas! lol

Hey, what do you suggest for when it is raining? Should I wear like a dress with tights and uggs?

I missed the revisit day but there’s an open house that basically follows the same program. I plan to wear a polo and tan skirt along with ballet flats. Plan to wear what the students do and don’t be too dressy. They might have games to play were you’ll get dirty. It’s a revist day so, it’s kind of like a little taste of what’s to come so it’s a little relaxed. More relaxed than an open house.

DON’T wear Uggs. Do you really want them to get wet? and with a dress? Ugg…

LOL THAT WAS PUNNY! Ugg…ugh…ugg… :D

Im going to suggest that you stay away from the Abercromie and Fitch, and Hollister. Where “smart dress”, top dress to fancy but i would suggest for guys a shirt and a tie, and slacks and black dress shoes would be a must, and im not sure about the girls because i am a guy but “keep the make-up at a minimun” please.

bro that would be a tad formal for boys

  • blue blazer
  • oxford shirt (plastel)
  • tie optional (if so rep tie)
  • khaki’s
-boat shoes or loafers (NO SOCKS, it is very very very important that one does not wear socks
  • belt ( d-ring or leather)

thats some what of the WASP/boarding school springish attire

How about andover for a boy.
Can I wear anything? I’m planning to wear a polo shirt and nice jean.

i think a sensible choice for girls would be a black corset, ripped fishnet stockings and 7 inch stilettos, don’t you?

naw, jk. i’d just wear a nice dress shirt and probably a pencil skirt to go along with it. i would love to wear my Vans but i’m sure my mom would make me wear loafers or something, haha  probably for a good reason… too bad i’m not going to any revisit days, though. have fun!

im planing to wear jeans and a polo. would it be weird if i had a mohak with an earing…

^imho, i would think that was way cool (the mohawk and earring)

definitely! a mohawk and a polo… unlikely combination. it’d look really cool, aha! not sure how formal deerfield is, though, so…

hah thanks guys or gals i feel i would look really awk at a revisit day. now u know guiys know if its me at revisit day haha

jyun do you actualy have a earing and a mohawk or is it one of those fohawks? Because earings for guys and mohawks generally do not go well at boarding school, and Hcos whats with the no socks thing i dont get it?
Do you guys think it would be ok to wear crocs?

I have a legit mohawk. I have a buzzed hair with a 5 in spikes

I would leave the jeans for another day…check the dress code for the schools that you are revisiting :-).
