What to wear to an interview

So... what should i wear to an interview? Is it just a casual thing or is it dressy like a suit and tie thing?

Thanks!

Definitely dress in a way you feel comfortable, but I think a nice pair of pants and a nice shirt couldn't hurt -- I mean, you're making an impression on this person, and it's nice to show a little respect through your choice of clothing.

Of course, I'm sure plenty of people have gotten into MIT after wearing suits, jeans, ripped shirts, khakis, or anything else -- MIT is that sort of place! But if it were me, I'd dress a notch or two nicer than I would on the average day.

EDIT: Could I have used the word "nice" any more times in this post???

Depends wholly on the situation. My interviewer wanted to talk to me right after school on the first day of school, and said just wear whatever I wore to school that day.

He was a great guy, and the interview turned out great. Don't fret it.

My guy said the same thing too... to come right after school and wear whatever I was wearing... which turned out to be jeans and my matrixy/sci-fi programming tournament shirt... pretty convenient!!!

wear a tie and nothing else

Now that's hot. I'd let you in ;)
