Ok, i know this is politically incorrect and such, but do messenger bags make guys look gay? Cause i found this awesome swiss army bag that is really nice for storing my laptop, but i dont want to have a messenger bag if thats sending the wrong message (no pun intended).

girls will be happier to talk to you if you're perceived as gay, get me that bag will ya :)

perhaps a forehead sign saying "i'm straight" will help, that way the bag will have some competition in defining your image.

ok, point taken. cut me some slack though, im coming from texas, the redneck capital of the world.

i just had to pick on you because of the homophobia :p, but don't worry i'm sure you'll become friends with some gay guy at columbia, he'll tell you just how 'gay' the bag is, and you'll happily wear it too.

messenger bags are ok as long as they're slung across your body. you don't want it described as a "manpurse".

Are these things even good for storing laptops? They're generally not that padded. And laptops are pretty fragile.

I don't think it's gay for a college student to have a messenger bag. But when I see a guy who's dressed up for work / a professional setting - particularly in a suit - walking around w/ a messenger bag draped over his body, there's a presumption that he's gay.

Ever see Jim from the Office?

if you're as hot as Jim from the Office, then by all means carry one
