Wow, you guys have lockers?!?!? T_T

Yeah, you should NOT be carrying that much weight. I’m sure you could leave something out.

I’m thinking about getting: [Super Deluxe Book Pack: Campus and Commuter Packs at L.L.Bean](http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=38084&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&parentCategory=504479&feat=504479-tn&cat4=504478) or [Turbo Transit Pack: Campus and Commuter Packs at L.L.Bean](http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=48014&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&feat=38084-ppxs&dds=y)

And hopefully my schedule next year will keep me mostly on the same hall (aside from band and French). Because my school is so spread out. Our ‘upper school’ is supposed to be located on one hall, but there are only 14 classrooms on that hall. So language classes (mostly) get annexed to the FLOP house, which is a good 5-7 minute walk from the main hall. And music classes (and a lot of English classes, study halls, and art classes) get put in our Arts building which is only a 2 minute walk away though.

But anyways… if classes get annexed out, you don’t have time to stop by your locker.

And plus… we’re not allowed to have locks on our lockers, so keeping valuables in there is kind of a no-no. (Especially textbooks! If people leave theirs at home, they go into lockers until they find a textbook to use. Sometimes they return them, and sometimes they don’t.)

I have one of the large LL Bean messenger bags. I had it “custom designed”. It was a gift. I love it, though, and it’s very comfortable. But as with any messenger bag, it hurts to carry a lot of junk. I carry as little as possible.

I’m still curious about that 40 - 80 lb. bag. How many textbooks did you have? Do you do weight lifting?

i have a ful army camo bag, the strongest bag and most comfortable one ive ever had. i ripped my zoo york bad and all my others

Weight lifting? No. XD (Although I do carry my sister who’s 60 pounds. =/)

Let’s see… I had about 8 textbooks and one workbook… sometimes more. And then I had seven folders (the size of one textbook), and two five-subject spirals notebooks.

It added up very quickly. =/

Whyyy are you carrying around 8 textbooks… are you in college prep classes? I’ve never had an AP class (and I mean, I’ve been around. All my classes were AP in high school) where you need a textbook in class. If you’re constantly working out of a textbook in class, it’s not an AP style class. It’s just pointless. It’s like doing homework for class.
I bet you could have combined everything you had in those 7 folders into one still pretty small folder. And could have used paper from one notebook instead of 2. And I mean one 1-sub notebook. (you don’t have to carry all your notes around all the time btw)

I have a messenger bookbag. I have two binders for all my classes and a few binders and I only carry one binder and one or two folders at a time.

Why do some people have to carry there textbooks around?

oh the hilarity

lawl i hoped someone would see that.

Do you guys have any recommendations for an adidas backpack. I’m hoping for one that is either burnt orange or dark green or some other cool color that’s not flashy but not the boring black either

Neon for the win.

flashy backpack = chick magnet

No AP classes yet. Only honors so far. And though we don’t do straight work from all of them, all of my classes randomly require them. (Like math requires it every day, because our teacher gets mad if our book isn’t opened to the example when he’s explaining it. eyeroll Or every so often in history we’ll need our textbook so that we can do a source activity. We have to read out of our English textbook when we’re discussing it in class. [You have to have ‘evidence’ or ‘proof’.] Sometimes teachers let us get started on our homework in class [which is in the textbook a lot of times.)

I have two five-subjects, because it’s way easier for me to keep up with stuff. My classes are more ‘big-picture’ oriented, and teachers like to have us refresh ourselves constantly, so sometimes one thing we’re currently studying will refer back to something else. They want us to have our notes handy. If you don’t keep your notes with you, then you fall behind pretty quickly.

And my folders get so full so quickly. But like I said, I need them to carry notes, and also to stay organized. XD

I often think that my school doesn’t teach traditionally, because our classes reference everything we’ve studied, whereas at other schools I attended, you really only studied what you were learning right then and there. =/

North Face makes the best backpacks ever. I never thought I could like a backpack so much

I just got a Hurley backpack today from Tillys. It’s black and purple.

Northface Recon so i can also put my shoes on the net and slide some stuff in there too

Got an Eastpack bookbag and a Generic Messenger bag. I use the messenger bag like a murse.

I have a L.L. Bean Turbo Transit Pack in mid-blue. It’s huge, so I can store my soccer cleats in them too, instead of carrying a gym sack as well. I’ll probably get a North Face Big Shot for college since I too like the North Face backpacks since they are really comfortable. Unfortunately for the L.L. Bean, you can feel all the weight of your books when you’re carrying it around, not as true with the North Face.

i use a vera bradley tote bag…or i just carry them.
