- Physics
- Biology
- Chemistry
- AP Physics or Bio, H Chem
Since this thread has been revived, here I go:
Standard:
9th: Earth Science
10th: Biology
11th: Physical Science or Chemistry
12th: No science or PS/Chem
Honors:
9th: Honors Earth Science
10th: Honors Biology
11th: Honors Chemistry or Honors Physics
12th: AP Biology, APES, or HChem/HPhysics
Most advanced:
8th: Earth Science
9th: Honors Biology
10th: Honors Chemistry and Honors Physics
11th: AP Biology or AP Chem or APES
12th: AP Chemistry or AP Bio or APES
We have no prerequisites for AP other than Alg II concurrent for AP Physics and generally good grades. There is not really a standard sequence and only 2 years are required. Only “college prep” (really low level) and AP classes are available; no honors science courses.
Son took this:
9: AP Physics B (last year it was available)
10: AP Chemistry
summer: dual enrollment Geology
11: AP Biology
12: Nothing left except AP Environ Science. Probably will take dual enrollment physics with calculus or astronomy.
I am in an accelerated program called STEM at my school where we’re required to take 5 math credits and 6 science credits.
9th: Honors Biology
10th: Honors Chem
11th: Honors Physics (AP Physics 1) and AP Chem
12th: AP Biology and Honors Intro to Engineering
I would recommend not taking AP Chem and AP Physics together but taking one at a time with an easier class like Honors Chem, Honors Physics, APES, AP Bio, etc. Manage your classes on your level of skill and how you can time manage a class like AP Chem which has lots of hw/labs with another science class.
Standard: env, bio, physical science what ev
Honors: bio, chem, apes, some ap science maybe
My school’s AP and Honours offerings are as follows:
(8th grade): Certain schools connected to my private school are allowed to let their students in the morning take Biology Honours. As I went to a public school, I could not take advantage of this. Unfair but such is life at times.
9th grade: Biology Honours
10th grade: Chemistry Honours
11th grade: Physics Honours, Anatomy Honours, Physics I A.P., Chemistry A.P.
12th grade: Biology A.P., Physics C A.P.
Many of these are not strict grade requirements given the 8th grade ability and math requirements for Physics are just Algebra II and Calc.
Now then, my track:
9th grade: Biology Honours
10th grade: Chemistry Honours
11th grade: Chemistry A.P., Physics I A.P.
12th grade: Biology A.P., Physics C A.P.
9th: Biology, Chemistry, or IPC (IPC is Integrated Physics and Chemistry, people in this class were placed in it for failing standardized tests)
10th: Chemistry, IPC, Physics (You are allowed to begin taking AP Science at this level, at least if you took Bio in middle school)
11th: Physics, Any other Advanced Science (like Aquatic Science, AP, etc.)
12th: Advanced Science
EDIT: I THOUGHT YOU WERE ASKING FOR WHAT THE WHOLE SCHOOL WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE-- OOPS.
My science sequence (planning on it at least)
9th: Regular Biology
10th: P AP Chemistry
11th: AP Bio, AP Physics
12th: AP Chem, AP Physics II
9: Honors Bio
10: Honors Chem
11: Honors Physics
12: AP Chem/ Hon Anatomy/ AP Bio D: idk i can’t decide
Im planning on…
9: H Bio
10: H Chem
11: AP Physics 1, AP Chem
12: AP Bio, Anatomy & Physiology
(I truly adore my school, but I hate the fact that it does allow for students to double up on AP sciences!! And it doesn’t have any honors sciences or of the such either!)
So here’s what I did:
Freshmen = Biology P
Sophomore = Chemistry P
Junior = AP Biology
Senior = (planning on taking…) AP Chemistry
I’m planning
9th: bio hon (done)
10th: chem hon (done)
11th: AP bio & physics honors, maybe self study AP physics 1 or 2
12th: AP chem & AP physics 1 or 2 depending if I self study
I would be taking AP chem w AP bio next year, but AP chem & AP physics won’t be available courses to my school until my senior year ):
Here’s mine:
Freshman - Honors Biology (finished)
Sophomore - Honors Chemistry (finished)
Junior - Physics 1 / AP Chemistry (just took AP test Monday)
Senior - AP Biology / Anatomy / Forensics
8th: Earth Science
9th: Biology
10th: Chemistry, AP Physics
11th: AP Chemistry, AP Physics 2 or AP Biology
12th: AP Physics 2 or AP Biology.
9: Global Science
10: Biology & Chemistry
11: AP Biology, Anatomy & Physiology
12: Health Occupations, AP Chem, Physics
My school doesn’t necessarily work in one specific way. Here’s what I did/am doing.
9- Honors Biology
10- Honors Chem and AP Physics 1
11- AP Advanced Physics and AP Chem
12- AP Bio and Human Anatomy
What I did/am Doing:
Fresh- Compsci AP, PreAP Bio
Soph- AP Physics 1, APES, AP Bio, Pre-AP Chem
Junior- AP Stats, Clac BC, AP Chem, AP Physics C E/M + M, Comp Sci 2 Adv Data Struct
Senior (Planned)- AP Physics 2? Anatomy Honors? AP Psych (Is that a science), Challenge CompSci Principles maybe if my school gives credit [we dont have a class].
That’s about it. Should have divided up my APs better lol.
We don’t offer any post AP classes (except CS2)- it kind of sucks. I’m thinking about taking Modern Physics/Multi/Lin Alg at local University next year.
Here is my schedule:
Frosh: Bio Honors and intro community college course
Soph: Chem Honors and cc
Junior: AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1, and cc
Senior: AP Bio, AP Physics 2, and cc
Frosh: Bio honors
Summer: Chem
Soph: AP Bio
Junior: AP Physics I
Summer: AP Physics II
Senior: AP Physics C
Frosh: Biology
Soph: Honors Chemistry
Junior: AP Physics 1

Fresh: Geophysical science (high-level students test out and go to honors biology
Soph: Biology or Honors Biology
Junior: Chemistry or AP Bio
