what was your first car?

i agree with warren_buffett89. i think if the parents can afford to give their kid what they want than thats ok. its not bad parenting. plus this car has to last until i can afford to buy my own car.

First of all, don't be such a dbag about how someone gets there car JPod, and DO NOT tell someone else there parents are doing a bad job, cause in the end you're just being a narrow minded dick.

I don't intend to flame, but dude, the topic asks what type of car is our first, so quit crapping on other people who have nice cars, thanks.

dude tooya you totally have it right.

It's their, not there. Learn grammar before you come on here and argue damnit. (to Tooya)

I'm not. As I said, I myself got a brand new, $30K car. But to tell me that parents should give their kids a $60K or whatever the hell Benz, well thats insane. My parents can afford to get me whatever the hell I want. Hell, I want a G35x, a mere 3K or so more than my car. I understood that it was a bit wrong for me to have it, so I understood. But dont tell me that because you have the money justifies giving your kid a car more expensive then my dads.

As for Mr. Buffett, plenty of people cant afford to buy their kids a car, let alone a nice one. There are worse things than public transportation, although Im sure you wouldnt know offhand.

well i didnt get a $60K car. and i like how u think i sounded like snob and your saying "My parents can afford to get me whatever the hell I want."

and why does it matter if someone has a nicer car than your dad?

I know I did thats the point, but the point is i'm not, because I didnt get whatever the hell I wanted. Why's it matter? Because it's Inappropriate that a 17 year old should have a car more expensive than a successful adult.

well a bmw 3series isnt more expensive than an a6. but whatever i see your point. and i agree. but i dont have a nicer car than my successful adult parents so for me theres no problem there.

just about every kid in my school has a nicer car than your dad's. Jpod you shouldnt judge people you don't know. I make the payments for my Porsche not my father. SO WHO IS THE SPOILED ONE ME OR YOU?? And if your dad chooses to be frugal thats his proirity but dont rant about how if a parent gives their child a nice car they dont know anything about parenting. My parents worked very hard to get the money that we have now. What is the point of it if it is just in the bank? And dont tell me that I have never been on public transportation because you dont know me so **** with that ********.

ive been on public transportation. subways kind of scary. well actually theres just some scary ppl down there. i prefer cabs or buses for public transportation instead of subways.

well a bmw 3series isnt more expensive than an a6. but whatever i see your point. and i agree. but i dont have a nicer car than my successful adult parents so for me theres no problem there.

Yeah, I know. Glad you see my point. I doubt you're really that much of a snob.

I'm going to ignore all the crap in there and focus on one thing....My dad is 'frugal' for ONLY buying a $60K car? $60K for a car by normal american standards is pretty effing nice. Not to mention that the Audi A6 is an AMAZING car of which I'd take any day over a Porsche. I know I'm spoiled, but thats not the point. As for public trans., you didnt answer my question....

And how'd you get the Porsche? Lemme guess, stock market?

To answer the question about public transportation yes i have been on the subway many times. As for my money I started in the NY night club scene and then moved on to the stock market. And anyone who would take an audi over a porsche is just a dumb . normal americans standards is **** most of america is part of the blue collar working class but yes comapared to them your dad is on top.

^To tell you the truth I'd take the A6 over any porsche as well. Porsche can suck my balls, unfortunately it is the only german manufacturer that I hate.

Oh and dude warren_buffett89 stop writing like a retard.
"normal americans standards is "... ARE you moron ARE, "standards" not standard... I have an idea: grab that money you're spending on your Porsche and use it to pay for a decent education..
I really hate snobs like you...and I hate even more uneducated snobs with new money...

warren_buffett89: My parents give me metrocards all the time, when they can of course, and I'd say I've been raised pretty good. I live in NYC. Don't have money like some of the people here. I do have my license but there is no way in hell I'm going to be wasting money on insurance, gas, maintenance, etc. when I can just take public transportation which is sometimes even better if you're going into the city. I've never had any incidents while taking the train or the bus. It's actually entertaining sometimes to take public transportation. So many weirdos.

isn't it like really hard to park and stuff in NYC?

yeah, usaully in the city we just take taxis or subways but otherwise everywhere else we drive

As for my money I started in the NY night club scene and then moved on to the stock market.
You started this as a kid? Huh?
Call me dumb, but i'm sure plenty of people would take an Audi over a Porsche any day. Hell, I know plenty of people who would. God knows i'd do the same as my dad.

I really hate snobs like you...and I hate even more uneducated snobs with new money...

Hey! I'm new money. Granted i'm educated, and my family prides ourselves on modesty unlike most Nouveau Riche.

First of all my family isnt exactly new money. My father's family had to flee Germany because of the Nazis, and most of their wealth was lost. My father then rebuilt the family wealth in real estate, and you can bet your ass that I will make even more. As for my father being uneducated, he attended Yale, and I will be shooting for Yale, Wharton or NYU-Stern.

^When did I say your dad was uneducated?? I was talking about you...but forget...I'm way to bored right now so I'm just looking to start arguments with random people...best course of action for now: ignore me
