The arts credit requirement.
I’m not in band, I can’t sing, I can’t draw, and I don’t want to learn how to act.
The health credit was kind of a waste of time too.
But then again I like my required electives because it’s my only chance to be surrounded with NORMAL kids. :D

Gym! What a total waste of time and space for me. Lucky enough, I had Gym on my senior year, so I could use it as study block :]

Health…

Does anyone actually have a Child Development/Parenting class at their HS? I mean, seriously? It’s totally ridic.

ughhh definitely Gym.

^We have one. Totally ridic indeed. It’s what all the dumb and lazy kids take who don’t want to take a legit class. It’s especially annoying when they carry around their fake babies who just can’t seem to ****.

^^ my old school had one. I didn’t take that class but my friend did and she said it was pretty boring and stupid.

Civics and Careers, HANDS DOWN. (They’re one class, but half credits each)
My teacher woke me up at the end of the class approximately every day.

You want to be unemployed?

Yes .

There’s tons of seniors at my school worrying about the one required fine arts class credits. I’m not too worried about that one. 4 years of orchestra, 3 years of marching band, 1 semester of dance, 1 year of 3-D art, 1 semester of media communication…

My least favorite requirement? Hmm. There isn’t anything too strict. Arizona has extremely low standards so in order to graduate all I needed was

2 PE credits
4 science credits
6 math credits
16 elective credits
8 english credits
2 fine arts credits
and to pass a computer proficiency exam.

Pretty pathetic. 2 credits=1 year of class.

Heath, computers, or 2 years of gym. The state also made a rule this year if you’re not in sports you have to be in a PE class all year, every year. Fortunately, I play sports all the time, but it sucks for the kids that don’t. Oh well, that’s what America gets for being an obese country.

^Ouch that really sucks… Though, as an athlete, I think it would be cool to skip over the PE prereq (considering I work out 2.5 hours every day after school XD) But I do feel bad for other students who aren’t into sports at school or whatever.

^^Do you know I swore off exercise (except walking, hiking, biking, and snowball fighting) after hs PE? Did more harm than good…

Well, for me, although PE can be exhausting, I feel that it help me become fit and healthy and active.

The hated class is taking a forced English class (teaching poetry and drama only and it’s treated as an elective). School makes everyone take it for freshman and sophomore year in order to fulfill the California English Standards. Total waste of time!!! I didn’t learn anything.

public health and safety…waste of a summer school class…

PE is a waste of time. It’s required for four years and it’s actual aerobic exercises the first two years with sports a couple times a week sophomore year.
For junior and senior year, they expect us to work out on our own, but everyone just lies about it. The teachers for our other subjects are like, “PE teaches you to…” and everyone knows to finish the sentence with “lie.”
And to top that all off, we get to run a 10K or swim 2K all years except sophomore year when we do a biathlon. Pure. Fun.

Plus it’s a GPA killer the first two years if you’re not really athletic. I mean, if you want A’s. I got a B and some A-'s.

My favorite is the performing arts requirement. I think I have 10 credits for the one required. Two credits=One year.

Oh, I needed a fine arts class too. Forgot about that…I did Understanding Music. It was an easy A, and it was kind of interesting, but it was definitely a useless class. The first half was awful…all we did was learn about music history (like 1000-1930s), then second quarter we just went over popular music (1950s-1970s is all we finished :()

Health <— hard class. Lots of people I know almost failed it.
3 classes of “Religion”
Study Hall - required for freshman and sophomores. I would rather take another class >.>

gym AND health.

My health class was independent study. I did it in about 5 weeks before graduation, filling out tedious packets.
