What was your LEAST favorite graduation requirement class?

math. math. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Gym, waste of time.

die .

GYM GYM GYM
i hate gym with a passion now. i could have come home a period earlier and studied everyday. GAWSH.

I’m torn between gym, health, and freshman seminar.

We have it and several others that are highly similar, along with FCCLA and FFA. Then again, I live in Idaho. Our school motto should be “If ya ain’t a farmer or a mommy, whatdya doin’ here?”

But as for worse required class, freshman year they require “Global Perspectives”. It’s a repeat of every middle school geography class. Now I’m a junior, I have most of my required ones done. Health was useless. I took it online over summer. Learned nothing. As with my PE credits–one was a “dance” class freshmen year (all girls, no one did squat) and I took PE online during summer with health. Easiest, and two most worthless classes ever.

I have to agree…Gym is not worth it for me.
The school only requires a year for everyone - even those who play sports.
So, instead of taking a fun class I wanted to take, I got to work out for 3.5 hrs a day… (1.5 for PE, 2 for sports). Seriously - if you play a sport, you should NOT have to take PE!!!

I also feel like health is annoying, even though being first aid/CPR certified is useful. It would be better to just require a one day class - it doesn’t take the whole semester! We used to be able to take health 2 online, and I was going to during the summer this past year, but my school changed it so you could only take it through the school during the summer. I couldn’t do this, so I am now stuck in Health 2…I just want to take graphic design!!!

Performing/Fine Arts Requirement

4 years english…who needs 4 years of english

my school requires just:
3 years math
2 years science [1 lab]

i mean the schools’ english requirement is ridiculous

Haha. You think 4 yrs english is bad.
My school is on the 4 by 4 plan.
4 english 4 math 4 science 4 social studies + 9 more elective reqs (5 of which you don’t even get to choose)
But I’m not complaining. I like it. I have a hard time picking classes, so i guess it’s good that for the first few years they’re already picked for me.

well i’d rather take the other classes

i’ve taken 5 years math, 6 years science [5 lab], 5 years social studies, 4 years world language, but this english thing is useless since we don’t learn in english its just busy work

consumer ed.
pointlessss. not really actually but hate it!

I don’t get how anyone could hate gym. You get to run around for an hour and there’s no work.

Sometimes you don’t even have to run around.

Health. Only non-healthy people should be required to take it.

kiterunner: Yeah, it does suck for the kids that play sports outside of school. I have a friend who plays soccer year round on a traveling team, and they made her drop a class she was in to take a PE class.

PE/Health

I have to take it twice, as a freshman& a sophmore
I’m not a lazy person but PE is just plainly boring.
I loved my teacher but she went psycho on us sometimes and made us do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and run around til’ class was over.

baby management/ health not really sure which one, both were ridiculously boring

I had to take art… and it ruined my 4.0… because the teacher said my artwork was uninspired…

We didn’t do any exercise in my PE class. It looked like this:

Monday: Classroom day (like a third semester of health)
Tuesday: Weight room (but there were only four pieces of equipment and 35 students)
Wednesday: Walking, jogging, or running on the track (usually circuits)
Thursday: Classroom day (again!)
Friday: “game day” - we didn’t really have any equipment, so we made up these bizarre games that no one could figure out how to play

Plus, we had a 45 minute period. We spend 15 minutes getting dressed (in the beginning and at the end). That left 30 minutes, but we spent five minutes taking attendance and five minutes walking the gym in a warm up. So we only did 20 minutes worth of “work.”

So yeah. It was stupid.
