what websites to use to go apartment hunting?

other than craigslist. completely overwhelmed on this o.O

thanks

1) [San Francisco Rental Housing Search Tools - cribQ](http://sfbay.cribq.com/). This website scans all the craigslist ads and puts them onto a map. This way, you can zoom in to the areas you’d like to live in and see what’s available there.

2) Check out the websites for some of the larger rental companies. For example, check out North Berkeley Properties ([North Berkeley Properties: Units](http://www.northberkeleyproperties.com/)) or Everest Properties ([Home](http://www.everestprop.com/)). These sites usually have some form of search tool.

Happy hunting!

Another housing question–I am a total apartment-hunting newbie. If I wanted to move in June, when should I find apartments/sign lease/etc? The same for August?

Thanks!

[url=<a href=“http://www.housingmaps.com/]HousingMaps[/url”>http://www.housingmaps.com/]HousingMaps[/url]

I’ve apartment-hunted twice for August leases when I was at Cal. June ads don’t start popping up till maybe around spring break-April. August shows up starting in June-July. This time line specifically relates to Craigslist.

When are you planning to move in?

[Apartments for Rent - PadMapper Apartment Search for Oodle, Apartments.com, Kijiji, and Craigslist Apartments](http://www.padmapper.com) << The best one

you could try calrentals. but there is a subscription fee and they pretty much list the same stuff as craigslist

the problem with trying to find housing now is that all the good spots are already filled up
