What were your essay examples?

i must confess...

I used brittany spears as an example.

But it's not my fault that she happened to be the PERFECT example for the essay.

Bobdigi- baseball fan, eh? :)

And you'llsee... , I'm so proud of you for being willing to confess. :)

Britney Spears was the first thing that popped into my after I read the prompt. x]

I used her and a couple of characters from The Great Gatsby. = ]

my topic is individual v. group&team...
i talk about the earthquake in sichuan and a personal example about working in team and alone..and i've got 2 pages,i hope i can get a 10...that's the best for me ..

i wrote about brittany spears and myself (...i know i know) but i used every line and it was organized with decent vocab.

I used :
- "Day after night" - an English version of a Turkish novel I read. It talks about a talented and lonely man and he always failed to achieve success.
- Jason Smith and Sabeer Bhatia - authors of Hotmail.
- Bill Gates and Paul Allen - authors of Microsoft.
Are these good enough ?

For the fame one, duongviethai? It looks good, although it might have been better if you had an example from current events, rather than two computer-geek types.

@ Butternut : I really appreciate your comment ! Thank you !

I had the does fame = happiness question.

I wrote about Harry Potter and the fact that he was famous for something he has no recollection of, and this fame is a burden/causes problems/he wants to be normal.
Then I wrote about the film Chasing Liberty and related it to how the sons/daughters of presidential candidates/presidents are always in the spotlight regardless of whether or not they would like to be, and how in the film she couldn't even go on a date without being watched.
Then I wrote an opposing paragraph about Warren Buffet and how some people enjoy the spotlight because it enlightens society to certain causes, such as poverty in Africa, but that this usually isn't the case, and then a conclusion.

Is Harry Potter always the first thing to pop into anyone else's head when doing practice essays? I just feel like that story applies to so many prompts... hah.

I was ecstatic that it fit so perfectly. And then J.K. Rowling made an appearance in a grammar question. Maybe I'll get brownie points? hahah

I'm really interested to see how well people that said fame=happiness will do, I used that just because my spin on it kinda worked. Hopefully my filling of the two pages helped me out alot.

heanditravel, that's what I thought when I saw the writing question as well.

I wrote about Harry Potter (brought up Gilderoy Lockhart as well) for one of my examples.

My other example was the Clinton family.
