Hi! I’m currently a senior applying to college and I’ve just finished my midterms. Since my grades will be coming out soon, I know I need to submit a midyear report to my schools, but I can’t find the link anywhere on the Common App. Is it up, or do I have to find it somewhere else? Related: is it online, or something I have to mail?
Also, does the midyear report have to include my midterm grades? While I think my midterms went well overall, I’m worried because I got a C on my bio midterm (the only grade I have back so far). We had some special circumstances for first semester (we had four different teachers), but I’m worried that it’ll impact my chances. Will this also potentially get me rescinded (from MIT - I got in EA)? Thank you!
Others schools may have similar on their websites - it might be good to refresh yourself on the admissions requirements for other schools. The Common App has a standard mid-year for, complete by your counselor.
Google ”common application mid year report” for an example. CC doesn’t seem to like me posting the URL directly.
Being rescinded typically requires a D or F, and for the semester grade not just one test.
Lower grades for schools still in the admissions process will impact an application, as would be expected. One lower grade of 50+ over HS isn’t a big impact, but it’s non-zero.
My DD’s college counselor submits the grades herself. I logged onto Naviance and can see that she has already submitted the midyear reports for all the schools.
