What will happen if I drop two high school courses?

REPOSTING IN THIS THREAD FROM THE CALIFORNIA COLLEGE THREAD:

So I'm a high school senior who has already applied to the UCs. This year I found myself struggling in my Honors Stats class and AP Calc AB class and I've already dropped my Honors Stats class because my grades were so low. I'm considering to drop AP Calc AB since my grade is also failing but then there will be two withdrawals on my transcript. I know I have to notify the UCs but will this look bad? I've already completed all of my a-g courses and math requirements but if the UCs see that I have dropped two classes will I be in danger? Overall my grades for my high school career have been steady As and Bs, but I'm dropping these math classes because I'm getting below C-.

BTW I happened to already got into one of the UCs (Riverside) and if I messaged them my dropped courses will I be rescinded?

The people that know the answer work in the UC admissions offices. We can guess what they’ll say, but IMHO you’re better off getting reliable answers from the people that actually know what will happen.

The people that work in admissions like kids and want to help them realize their education dreams, not find ways to deny them. By reaching out now (as you realize you are required to do, anyway) you are showing maturity which counts for something. Maybe they say you are fine and then your mind will be at ease, maybe its a problem but they can work something out with you. On many things there is some wiggle room, but you have to ask.
