thrills, I enjoyed your on-campus pics (thanks). I was wondering about work-study, myself. I noticed that there are tons of positions, in many different departments. I was curious as to how hard it was to land one. I wouldn't mind working at the Biddle Law library, or something to that nature.

Getting a job at PENN is not hard at all. Print the form, set up an interview and you will have a job. I work at Biddle and it is a nice job. I love the atmosphere and the people I work with. Good luck.

Not typically too hard to land a job, but it can be more difficult to land the job that you want, depending on what you want to do.

Researchers are always looking for people, so if you want to do that, just look around online or even email a professor you know is doing some.

The jobs which will give you the most time to study and/or relax are the administrative ones or the ones in the library.

hah, no, but then again my contact with them has been everything but usual:

beginning of summer: i apply, but don't do a cover letter, realize it after i submit it, and say whoops

end of july: i finally get my act together and write a cover letter, submit the application again as if i never intially applied, and hope they don't discard my application for being lazy earlier

a few days later: i'm looking on their site to see when i hear back and i find an ambiguity in the job description, i send an email to the supervisor and she thanks me for finding the error (a good thing on my part?)

about 10 days ago: i get an email saying they have my application and will notify me week of aug15, which is when the applications are due..so maybe that's a good sign that they'll tell me right when no one can submit any more applications?

no. and they said i'd hear week of aug. 15. i sort of want to call or email them to show interest but i don't want to bother them, because it seems like they're too busy to get out notices..

i haven't heard anything either, but this is penn. talking to ANYONE at this university, especially about transfer credit, is so difficult...kind of annoying. where are you staying? i'm in sansom west

I agree with you, thrills...
It has been a little difficult getting the proper information about things.
I found that you have to call, as they seem to never get around to answering emails. I don't know. Maybe it's just my bad luck.
