WHAT would be the best double major combo for market research?

I'm really interested in the market research field, but I know a lot of different aspects come into play (statistics, social sciences, obviously marketing)
So if I were to double major, what would give me the best possible edge when trying to find jobs/internships?
Eg. Psychology/Actuarial Science
Psychology/Marketing
Finance/Marketing
????
Thanks!!!!

I would say a math/statistics with economics would be the best. Are you thinking about firms like Forrester or Gartner?

Lol, do you even know what an Actuarial Science degree entails? But to seriously answer your question, either statistics/marketing or economics/marketing would be great.

I’m a Market Research Analyst. I have a BS in Statistics. I work with 3 other Analyst that have different degrees (all from a top business school) with specializations in Finance, Economics, and Marketing.

I got the job mainly because of my statistics degree. Psychology might be a good minor/second major, one that specializes in human (consumer) behavior.

Market Research is a really broad industry, with room for people with various backgrounds. Our firm handles a wide array of jobs, from focus groups and (phone or Internet) opinion surveys, to economic impact and market share analysis, to strategic planning, among other things. One thing I will recommend, develop strong communication and writing skills. We routinely turn out 30 to 250+ pages reports depending on the project.

I’ve done a lot of work in customer analytics, which focuses on understanding a customer base as a whole, but also on an individual level. I’m personally concentrating in Marketing and Business Analytics (track within O/IM), and also majoring in computer science. Ultimately there are a lot of opportunities in quantitative side of things. If you’re really into advertising side of things, aim for a mix of psychology/cognitive sci with Marketing.
