What would happen if I went to a community college for a semester?

I want to transfer to UConn. I went to Fairfield University last semester and I hated it. Community college is the most affordable alternative to Fairfield at the moment.

Would it hinder my chances of getting into UCONN next fall if I went to community college for one semester?

I got a 4.0 at fairfield last semester if that helps.....

How badly do you want to be in college this spring semester? Is there any other way you could use your time instead?

Would you be fine with staying at the community college for more than just one semester if you weren’t admitted to U Conn for next fall?

Pick up the phone, call U Conn, and ask whether you are a transfer applicant yet. With only a semester of credits, you might still be a freshman. This could make a difference in scholarships, etc.

How do you feel about needing to request transcripts from one more place for the rest of your natural life? Right now you are expecting to be ordering up two different transcripts (Fairfield and U Conn). Even one credit class at the community college will mean that you have to request a third. Some people don’t mind keeping track of umpteen transcript addresses, but for others, this would be a deal-breaker.
