What Would You Do?

I just finished my freshman year at a highly-ranked LAC in the Midwest. I did not want to go to the school and was not particularly happy this year, but I did well academically, made friends, and, most importantly, made excellent professional connections (I am a Political Science major and have had two political internships, with the offer of a third in the fall). I applied to transfer and was accepted to UVA and Georgetown, two of my top choices. I haven't received my aid packages from either, but assuming they're feasible, I am torn as to whether to go to a school that would challenge me more (I'm fairly bored currently) and where I would be happier, or to stay in my current situation for the sake of the job/resume benefits I'll reap in the long term.

Any and all advice would be appreciated. I've spent too long turning this over in my head and would like some outside input! Thanks in advance!

I would absolutely go to Georgetown if I was in your position. Poli sci at Georgetown is top-notch, no?

i cant imagine why you’d have less job/resume benefits from uva or gtown?

@linababe - simply because my current institution is located in the state capital. I worked at the legislature this semester and have already amassed a lot of connections to people in the political world here.

well thats awesome!! although georgetown is located in the nation’s capital… maybe you could use some of those connections you already have to get you opportunities in dc
