Hello fellow cc-ites. I am currently in the planning stages of a website. The basic premise is that it is going to be the only place high school juniors and seniors will have to go during the college application process. I plan on featuring articles, a forum, a checklist that allows you to see where you are in the application process, and other components. The point of my website is to be extremely comprehensive so that you don't have to go anywhere else for any information you may need.

What else would you like to see on this website? What would make you want to come to this website? If you have completed, are completing, or will eventually complete the college application process (which should include everyone), tell me what you would look for in such a website.

I don't think you understand. This is a forum. I am talking about a full- fledged website. I have no intention of competing with CC. I am a huge fan of CC.

But as helpful as CC is, it is not what I am looking for when it comes to organizing my application. Sure, it's very helpful to receive advice. But I don't think it offers a checklist of everything you need to cover. I don't think there is a definitive article system that will tell you what exactly you need to do during the application process. As far as I know, CC doesn't offer you printable worksheets that will help you keep track of college applications.

If you have a specific criticism, I welcome it.

It would be easier to just tell this to one of the mods, or post it on the Forum Issues board. The mods are open to suggestions to improve the site.

I think I should clarify what I'm going for here.

CC is a forum that's meant to help you get your questions answered about applying to college (well, part of is). The forum in itself is not a tool to track down your progress.

What I have in mind is getting yourself organized for applying. In other words, you keep track of what you have accomplished in the process to see what else you need to do. I am going to be applying this fall. If I had a way to see what I have done and what I still need to do, I could plan ahead and keep track of how best to utilize my time. That has nothing to do with CC.

I hope that cleared things a bit.

Note: Don't worry, I'm not going to be listing the site here. I am not here to promote a product (a product, which by the way, doesn't even exist). I just wanted to get people's opinion on what they would want.

The truth is, no site is actually a "one stop shop". They get outdated and don't apply to everyone. Something one person needs to know/do, you may not have to. Chances are that you also wouldn't get a lot of traffic.

Um, not everyone applying to college goes through the same process. Just post what your goals are and what you've done so far and people on these boards will give you more than enough info. on what you need to do in order to achive your goal. Make your own check list for what you need to do based on your own goals. Ur "checklist" is going to be different than other peoples, so threre is no point in trying to make a universal checklist. It wont work. Like I sais, if you have any questions or need advise on what you need or should do to achieve your goals, ...........just come to CC!
