Then I guess we can agree to disagree based on our personal experiences.

Natalie Portman is decidedly more attractive to me than Jessica Simpson but that’s mostly due to Star Wars.

Rosie O’Donnell doesn’t count seeing as she’s a lesbian

Huh?
.

Fine. 1 = Whoopi Goldberg.

I’m actually about to look this up. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if this is true.

Sadly enough, that, V for Vendetta, and Black Swan is all I know Portman for.

Both women and men are attracted to high cheekbones (a sign of sexual maturity), smooth skin and symmetrical faces (the number one determinant of whether or not a woman would orgasm during sex was whether or not her partner had a symmetrical face).

Men like wide hips (a sign of fertility), big eyes, small noses and weaker jaws. Women prefer a high shoulder-width to waist ratio (though not necessarily big muscles), a strong jaw, and smaller eyes during the most fertile periods of the menstrual cycle, and the relative opposite during points of lowest fertility (cads vs. dads and the sexy son hypothesis).

Ectomorphs may be preferred during times of surplus and endomorphs during periods of famine. These preferences may be altered by means of epigenetic conditioning during development which may also explain homosexuality.

Race is a non-issue, but most men and women prefer people with “average features” (hence why some Latinas and other mixed-race folks are so attractive.)

I can get sources if required. Peace.

Seems like this would be slightly less important than certain physical stimuli.

Natalie Portman is smart; she attended Harvard (even with the preferential treatment of celebrities in college admissions, she had the desire to learn and earned her degree). This makes her a lot more attractive to me.

^^I will try to find the link to the research for you but I’m on my phone right now and it’d be too laborious. Stay tuned.

Yeah wiscongene let’s get some sources.

And trust me, Natalie Portman was already qualified before gaining celeb status.

I’ve always noticed that very attractive girls tend to be intelligent. The dumb ones always have something off about them…there’s kind of a, grossness factor? I don’t know. But the ones where I just go ‘wow’ when I look at them are usually at least above average intelligence.

I have noticed the same thing as dusterbug. But these are just subjective observations, dependent on the person.

It could be the number one determinant out of all the * features of the partner * that were considered, not the number one determinant out of all possible things. That would make enough sense.

Expect a post later tonight perhaps. As I said, I’m out and my phone’s acting up. Believe me, I’m interested in pursuing research in this sort of “cosmetic” genetics and so I consider this an extension of my life’s work. Lol

I love how CC has discussions on human sexuality. Something I don’t think I could talk to my friends about. /random

It HAS been shown that hourglass figures have a correlation with intelligence.

Rather than stating things, can we please substantiate our claims?

… What? That sounds ridiculous. Where is the evidence?

I’m wondering if “attractive” features correlate with self-esteem, which in turn motivates one to work hard and do well in school.

Or “attractive” features could correlate with other people viewing that person in a more positive light. Thinking they’re more intelligent, hiring them, promoting them, et cetera.

^ Doubt it. That doesn’t get you high test scores/ good grades in school.
